Hi MWF, up for sale is my preloved Grand Seiko Snowflake SBGA211G Spring Drive, the most iconic watch Grand Seiko ever made. The watch was bought from its homeland, Japan. Therefore, it granted with 1-year additional JDM warranty (total of 4 years) from GS boutique – Ginza.
The dial is reminiscent of snow, and the titanium case is “as light as snowflake,” hence, contributing to the name of the watch – Snowflake. “The Snowflake is a very calmness-inducing watch – the subtle play of light on the dial, with its resemblance to a field of newly fallen, lightly drifted snow, and the silent, smooth glide of the blued steel seconds hand, combine to give a feeling of time flowing uninterruptedly, but also unhurriedly, and one seems to see time almost from a timeless perspective, as one is supposed to when deeply absorbed in meditation.” - Hodinkee
The case and the bracelet are hand-finished to perfection with distortion-free mirror-like finishing – so called the Zaratsu Polishing. Each part of the hands and indexes reflects / play with the lights extremely well, often creating the impression of an extremely sharp edges for the hands, altogether with the most magnificent snowflake dial, the watch will trigger your emotion every time you look at it, vary accordance to the light sources.
9R65 Spring Drive movement, given its contemporary and innovative hybridization of quartz and traditional mechanical technologies, it provided astounding accuracy, rated just 15 seconds a month. In real world, 5 to 6 seconds per month, plus 1.5 second per week can be easily achievable depending on usage. If you want the beauty and elaborate nature of a mechanical movement, but need it to be dead accurate like a quartz, spring drive is the answer. Needless to say, the most unique signature of Spring Drive calibre, the smoothest glide motion of its blued steel second hand (flame blueing hand, being flamed individually to minimized color differences).
All in all, a true watch collector/enthusiast or Seiko fans definitely needs one of this in their collection.
