Milgauss vs Datejust2
« on: July 16, 2015, 11:46:47 AM »
Which would you go for if its your first rolex?

Pro-milgauss
- cool green saphire effect?
- unique thunder/lightning seconds arm?
- sportier look?
- better retention value?

Pro-datejust2
- iconic rolex looks?
- cheaper price?

Whats your vote?

Milgauss! but if subC in the list id pick subC, you always get that fresh new look with the subC despite it being worn out.

Wuz in exactly (almost, explorer 1 oso in contention) same situation b4 pulling my trigger years ago.

What i found milgauss was top heavy esply for my smallish wrist, becoming uncomfortable.

not functional enuff (for non collector like me) without date - same reason didnt go for explorer1.

Dj2 it is for me. Iconic timeless design with date (tho i hate the bulge). Versatile daily wear.
Milgauss unique tho with much better resale value .. Collectors or flippers choice.

Depends on what u want/need.

By pure choice of vote here, justifies the better retention value of the milgauss..

But like farhan and wheel pointed out, milgauss for flippers.. datejust2 for collectors..

But i suppose if it was your first rolex, and u cant afford a subC, seems the vote still swings for milgauss despite people having to look twice to recognize its a rolex..

From a technology perspective, the Milgauss is more interesting. I am drawn to that aspect of the watch.

Milgauss, for the proportions of the watch and the fact that it flies under the radar so easily. The datejust is meant to be a 36mm watch. I truly think that 41mm is too big to be a "dress watch".
