Breitling Quartz vs Tag Heuer Automatic
« on: August 21, 2014, 07:32:09 AM »
Hi am planning to get a sports chronograph watch.
been looking around and come to this 2 units (budget constraint)
Breitling Colt Quartz and Tag Heuer F1
One is Quartz and the other automatic.

Will quartz watch have less maintenance cost?
only changing battery, will it need to be serviced like automatic watches?

any opinion?

It all depends on ur liking man...some ppl may just wanted to buy mechanical watches and some Quartz....accuracy wise nothing beats Quartz...but for me ill prefer mechanical just my own preference.

My personal preference skews towards Automatic mechanical movements, but that's just me. Flipped a few Quartz watches weeks after buying, and my Automatic ones tend to hang around much longer  ;D

Both watches pictured are good watches.
Just one question though... is this your 1st expensive watch purchase and planning to make it your daily wearer?
If it is, then go for the mechanical one.
Not that there's anything wrong with quartz movements...
When you expand your collection to a few more pieces of mechanical watches, inevitably you will need a quartz as your grab and go watch.

Not my first investment higher end watches
I prefer the mechanical movement but the Breitling does stand out
catch my eyes.
Only thing is the quartz movement and paying this price for quartz.

If it's the Breitling you like and it stands out for you but u prefer a mechanical, maybe have a look at the Breitling catalog.
They might have something similar but with a mechanical movement?

def the Breitling... since you already have a few watches and know that you're going for a chrono, want 2 keep the maintenance down and already prefer the Breitling design over TagH's.. We all need a few sports watches, even golf (not a sport) can mess with the best of mechanics (if unlucky)  :Laughing_on_floor:
