Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945

Is Girard Perregaux a brand you would go for?I have not seen many of this,so was wondering why and is it a good brand?what are your thoughts on this?

GP wouldnt exactly be at the top of my buy list....at that price range, i would go for other brands but i quite like the GP 1966......
