IWC Protofino Automatic - Genuine?
« on: July 18, 2014, 10:34:43 AM »
Hi,

Newbie here. Recently, i bought the watch in an AD (IWC Protofino Automatic - I like it). The deal is good (I did survey & ask around). The only thing is the sales rep said due to vast discount given, they can't issue an official receipt to me. Is this normal ? Will this affect my warranty ?

Seems like an AD in different or same location, different sale rep can give diff discount... Interesting...

Common for AD to do that as discount is control by manufacturer. They do not want reveal to the principal that they are breaching the max discount ceiling.
As long as the warranty card is dated with AD stamp, no problem on warranty issue.

Show us the wrist shots and warranty card stamped by AD ? Normally they would give you the official discounted price in the receipt back then when I bought my Omega Speedmaster at an AD put actual price paid is on the credit card slip.

Yup, IWC discount varies from AD to AD and sales person .....

Has had such experiences before with other Swiss brands' ADs. No worries with warranty as the official warranty card will be stamped and dated. Also, if you are paying by credit card, you would have the credit card slip for your safe-keeping.

Worries aside, remember the obligatory wrist shot ya. Good luck with the deal!

I did a similar transaction with an AD, no receipt due to big discount, and faced  no issues when sent for warranty  repairs.

Enjoy it with peace of mind.

Congratulations and looks great!

I had similar experience too, I believe they're not able to furnish the receipt due to offer below ad standard pricing
