to be frankly with that over price of Rolex on the market currently (not through AD), we can get from a preown AP which is 1 of the holy trinity

The alternative to Rolex, is also Rolex, but older model Rolex (pre-super case, pre-maxi dials, pre-ceramic, non-vintage sports models).

Those older models are having the same brand values, much easier on the price, retain values, equally robust, easier to service, and some said "better looking" than the new models.

Yes, some would say the quality of the modern Rolex especially on the bracelet, movements, bezel are much improved compared with the older models, but heck, those improvements don't justify paying 2 folds or more of the MSRP in grey market.

I saw used Jaeger LeCoultre and Breguets at that price. From my limited understanding, these are prestigious brands as well?

Pre-owned old Rolex is one of my choice too!  :Dancing_banana:

Is Armand-Nicolet a decent alternative? Their JS9 series looks pretty alright to me.

That's an excellent selection right there TS. I was recently at Cortina myself, and thought to have a look at the GO range of timepieces. Didn't get the opportunity to check out the black seaq pano (probably sold di), but did get to test out the blue one instead.

And i am smitten!

Would you just look at that dial...i see nothing in Rolex's dial offering that i find quite as fetching. A well deserved alternative indeed. I was mesmerized. Then saw the price tag and i was pulverized  . Started hunting online for a pre-owned, but pretty much non-existent. ppl must love these things enough to buy 'em and keep 'em.

I wish they kept the 49150/B01A dial on the Overseas Chrono.

Only a true watch connoisseur would be able to spot those alternatives, sadly these days most people are just going after the hype out value of the watches. For those, the best alternative to Rolex is another brand that can also hype out in value

I've always had a soft spot for Sinn watches. No nonsense utility watch in my opinion which close to a Rolex's soul which I think started off as tool watches.

Yes no drama but unfortunately the line they brought in here is kinda limited.
