Clearing automatic watch doubts

Dear MWF's user,

Whilst I have interest in wrist-watches, I am not quite an expert when it comes to movements etc.

Assuming if I have 4 to 5 automatic watches, and do not have a watch winder. At some point of time a few pieces out of those 5 will somehow stop running (when they run out of power due to lack of vibration/ movement etc) - and will start moving the next time I wear it. 

The question is, will there be any adverse effects on these automatic watches if they often stop and start running again on an irregular basis - as and when I decide to wear that selected watch. Obviously each time before I start wearing, I would have to adjust the time accordingly.

For example, if I only wear watch ABC on every Monday and Thursday - for each Monday and Thursday, watch ABC may have stopped (presumably on late Wednesday and Sunday), because 2 days or more have lapsed, and would start moving again on the subsequent Monday or Thursday. The foregoing is just an example, the point is would there be any adverse effects/ damage etc to the watch?

think about it this way.
a watch may sit in a shop for months or even years before being purchased, and the shop definitely do not use winders nor do most actually bother taking the time to wind each up every few days.
so if the manufacturers see no reason to advice the shop to keep it running, means there really isnt much to worry about

1. keep it moving everyday, cause faster wear on the movement.
2. wind it up as needed, cause slightly more wear on the crown.

i'll take the latter anyday.

Ps - Had adjusted the date and time of a watch this morning - might as well clear the doubt, hence the question here.

yea dont worry too much about keeping it running every day.

there are some who advice just to wind it up once every fortnight or so, just to keep the juices moving
