Major Headache from DADDY's Day

Hey guys!,

Im thinking of getting a watch for my dad for father's day. After probing him with questions, he thinks that Seiko & Orients are not up to par(I totally disagree btw) and are not swiss made. So i am on a budget of below RM1,500. His criteria would be:
- Classic look(he is 58 already & owns a Tag Aquaracer 2000 two-tone gold & stainless steel)
- Leather strap
- Sapphire crystal(he is super CHIU CHENG if u know what i mean)
- Swiss brands(lol)

Any suggestions?

if it has to be Swiss, Visodate is the way to go.

The lack of replies show the predicament you are in.

RM1,500 may get you a Swiss watch but I am inclined to think your dad will look at it like the Seiko and Orient.

Try again next year....

your dad not bad got attitude, look down on Seiko and Orient and demand for swiss and too bad your budget is limited.

get him a Swatch.

Dang!

I just passed a Swatch outlet and saw it had a few nice automatics on steel or leather strap. All under RM1k. Not a bad idea for a gift and if your dad scoffs at it, you can wear it and didn't blow all RM1,500

Recently,I have actually hunt for this Tissot visodate, (Gold tone/black dial) on behalf of my niece who stayed in oz.

I have managed to acquire this piece from an AD at the old price minus the receipt. If you bargain hard, you may get this at your budget.

If he thinks that Seiko and Orient are not up to the par, and he already owns an Aquaracer, I would think that neither Swatch nor entry-level Tissot would meet his liking.

Just wondering what you have gotten him at the end.
