My Journey with Panerai That Led to My One and Only PAM
« on: August 05, 2011, 09:37:31 AM »
Back in 2005, I was introduce by a friend to a huge watch called Panerai
When I saw it in the internet, I told myself "I've got to get myself one of this"!

So, off I went to our Manila AD but only to be told that all their PAM's (Panerai Models) were sold out
Next shipment was to arrive in 4 weeks. The good thing about it is, I was able to place an order of my choice.
Back then, I was smitten by the PAM 90 Power Reserve (Sorry, no actual picture, lifted from watchtuwant.com)

The PAM 90 stayed with me for 2 months until I decided to look for a brother to keep him company.
The hunt ended with a PAM 88 GMT, which back then was a very popular model  (Sorry, no actual picture, lifted from watchtuwant.com)

As a watch collector/enthusiast, the crave for a "grail" Panerai started to kick in. The PAM 127 or the PAM 217 was in the radar
But, with the exorbitant price ranging USD 20-23K, these grails were out of reach
In 2007, I received a very tempting offer from a friend offering his mint PAM 127. To make the long story short, I was able to purchase the PAM 127 but at the expense of the PAM 90 and PAM 88

But nevertheless, I couldn't be any happier with the Fiddy
It is my one and only Panerai which I sparingly use to match my wife's Panerai Blackseal

Here are some pictures i took of the PAM 127 (Fiddy) freshly mounted to an XL OEM JV strap and OEM Historic buckle
Hope you like the pictures

Not if I was there haha  :Laughing_on_floor:

I might save and get a PAM just to be in the group in between a DJ for myself haha  :Laughing_on_floor:

Which is the 114? Was it at the shop that day or did you get it from somewhere else?

JV stands for Jules Verne

Here a good read on how it all started: http://panerai.watchprosite.com/show-nblog.post/ti-415161/

And here's some good old JV strap porn   http://www.network54.com/Forum/353391/thread/1309071870/JV+strap+pictures+needed+of+a+new+one-
