*Unpolished* 1984 Rolex Submariner (Ref. 5513) "Spider Dial"
The Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 is the embodiment of the classic dive watch. The 5513 is simple yet sophisticated and rugged. The Ref. 5513 was first introduced in 1962 and ceased production in late 1989. The Ref. 5513 is a purpose-built dive watch that lacks the date function like other Rolex Submariner models.
This specific 1984 Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513 is in absolutely stunning condition and would make a versatile daily driver. Appropriate in a wide variety of settings, from casual everyday wear to pairing perfectly with a suit or sports coat. This Ref. 5513 is everything we love about vintage "no-date" submariners, but with some of the modern nuances that make it wonderfully functional. CASE and BEZEL
The excellent case is believed to remain unpolished showing crisp factory finishing and chamfers down the lugs with light signs of use. The bezel is also in a original worn condition.
BRACELET
The original Rolex 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 ends is in excellent unpolished condition as well, retaining 11 links and showing slight stretch from use. The bracelet is I serial which dates correctly for the 1984 watch.
DIAL & HANDS
The beautiful glossy black "Spider" dial with white gold surround markers is in fantastic condition. The "Spider" patina adds depth that is both subtle and eye-catching. The tritium lume plots have aged to a charming golden patina, and show no lume degradation under U.V. light inspection. The original tritium hands complements the dial perfectly, under inspection the hour hands, the minute and sweep-seconds hands show no degradation.
