I've recently stumbled upon a Sea-Gull watch that attracts me. What do you all think of this brand and the movement it self? Isit reliable?
The watch i stumbled upon is priced around RM1xxx only. It is an automatic "open heart" with power reserve and date indicator. Should i go for it?
Seagull is probably the most established brand in China, historically and volume wise. I own a M199S and it is an absolute steal with complications including date, moonphase and chronograph.
The downside: quality control is somewhat inconsistent. My own watch was sent back to seller due to chronograph second hand stutter (it was returned to me fixed). The movement is pretty reliable and looks nice through the caseback but the decoration is nothing to shout about.
Not a big fan of open dials myself but if you like it, go for it
