Is Rolex Warranty Card with handwritten date valid ?

folks, is an overseas purchased Rolex with handwritten date on warranty card considered valid ?

Will local Rolex centre at Menara Dion accept it ?

How they put the date if not written by hand using a ballpoint pen? It's 100% valid. Dont worry.

It's still some way to put the date on the card. Not like they printed by a machine supplied by rolex or something like that.

Most important is the date written is matched with rolex's record. That's only rsc can check. I wonder whether you can call rsc and quote the serial number + date on the warranty card for them to check. If you buy new from AD, really nothing to worry unless the AD is questionable. Well, they say, buy the seller.

My family and I have purchased new Rollies from ADs in Europe, HK, Macau, UAE and M'sia; and in all instances, it was all hand-written dated. Point to note was that I almost always found that Rollies' post-discount prices were more competitive at the above overseas ADs compared to locally. I have sent a piece or two of these to Rolex SC M'sia for time-checking and recalibration, and no issues with warranty claims at all. Unlike other Swiss and Japanese brands that I have purchased where the ADs were willing to leave the date on the warranty card blank for filling-in only when there was such a requirement, Rolex ADs have never accommodated to such a request as I was told that it was a specific instruction from Rolex HQ and also to prevent re-sale as new units by grey resellers.

The only Rolex warranty card that I have that was stamped/printed, was for Rollies sent in for overhaul-servicing at Rolex SC M'sia. An additional 2-year warranty card was issued, with the date of collection and country unprinted on the card. Hope this piece of info helps.

Just a trivia, there were some original Rolex warranty cards with extra security characteristics which I saw before. Not sure if it applies to all warranty cards though.

If you look at the front of the warranty card, the top part with the Rolex logo, when viewed under UV light will appear a repeated ROLEX hologram, just like that on the caseback stickers

Try it on yours and see.... 

Furthermore, there are some mentions that the card contains a RFID chip, which will be programmed with the customer name, purchase date and other info when the customer purchases it at an AD. Not really sure about this though

I have sent it to Woo Hin Brothers for checking (in fact there is some winding issue)
They will assist to send it to Rolex Centre for further checking since its under warranty for a service charge of RM250 which I think is very reasonable .
