« on: January 06, 2016, 07:44:37 PM »
Hi Guys,

I am new in horology. Currently looking to buy an IWC, Ingenieur Chronograph Racer. Price between AD and "others" ( that i found on internet, located in Bukit Bintang ) diff around 20%. Should I go for AD or "Other"?? Need advice. Thankssss..

buy from AD will give you peace of mind.

If you got a lemon( how they say it in cantonese )  it won't be worth the 20% saving unless you take the necessary extra precaution to check the authenticity of the watch.

Another vote for the AD. Pay a little more for peace of mind.

Pavilion's IWC store manager is both a great conservationist and knowledgeable in horology :D

I've had experience buying from AD and grey dealers. To be honest, AD would be my priority but sometimes the savings can be very good at the grey which makes it impossible to buy from AD. But these days with the poor exchange rates, grey are not really that much cheaper anyway. And buying from AD sometimes you'll get some freebies thrown in.

Not sure about your "others" but I would research extensively on that particular shop before you decide to buy it from there. My advice is if you're relatively new to luxury watches, go the AD route to have that peace of mind.
