Im a newbie in watch collection and trading.. I owned several Omega such as Speedmaster, Dynamic, seamaster planet ocean and few Tag Heuer as well.
im gonna share my watch one by one here. here we start off with Omega Speedmaster Professional - moon watch ( model no 3570.50.00 )
From the back case of the watch we can see the below wording..
* Qualified by NASA for all manned space missions
* The first watch WORN on the moon
After googling ard i found out this is the first watch worn to the moon, the moment I decided to buy in this watch is because of its appearance ( used ) and i know nothing about it. I like it very much but yet i dare not to wear it at my daily life due to the Acrylic Crystal it has, I afraid i will scratch it.. Any idea on how to overcome this ?
I feel like wanna sell it off or trade with some other watch as im a careless person... Any comments?

The Acrylic Crystal is more durable and not as rigid as compared to the sapphire crystal. Only thing is, it more prone to scratches but never crack easily.
The sapphire on the other hand is prone to crack and chipped off easily.
I will not baby my watch with acrylic which can be polished off (if scratches)
Why sell off or trade when you can loan it to ME as I am a very careful person to look after it for you :Dancing_banana:
Given a choice, I take acrylic over sapphire anytime.

I think issues like the crystal should be considered before buying, but like DC said, no matter how careful you are it will be scratched.
But it can be easily polished off.
You can always buy the version with sapphire crystal.

danven, light scratches could be polished off by using toothpaste! 8)

I dunno it was acrylic when i bought it... like wat i said, i bought for its appearance..
Im into new model of speedmaster too, just it is too costly for me, cant afford to buy... haha

Hi danven,
IMHO you should hold on to your Speedmaster. It's a real classic. The acrylic glass is not really an issue because scratches can be removed quite easily.
I've used toothpaste to remove light scratches from my Speedie Pro.
