Hi

My thoughts: try not to buy a quartz. To change the battery, it may take anything from 4-8 weeks!
Imagine you have a function & the watch is not back......unless you get both!

The PP Twenty-4 is quartz driven vs the in-house automatic from JLC Compressor.
IMHO I never believe in paying more than a thousand or two dollars for a quartz watch not unless you are into diamonds and bling bling where you don't mind paying for the case which costs many times over the movement value.
Of coz if you want to impress non WIS, wearing a PP will have far more impact than just a JLC but only to those who don't know what the PP Twenty-4 is, a quartz watch.
In this case, its a no brainer for me, JLC. If it was a mechanical PP, its a totally different situation.

My pick will be JLC too. Same reason with JOS.
 
Anyway, in the end of the day, it still come down to which one your lady like the most.

everyone seems to be picking JLC.

Ok, go for PP.

don't bother about the automatic vs quartz movement, your lady friends will have no idea what it is and they won't know what is a JLC.

for lady, unless they dun mind the hassle of using auto, do go for auto

otherwise, quartz is easier for hassle free

i'd go for PP, i'm sure as a lady they will prefer PP in square design rather sporty round :p

I guess it would depend on the wife's character. the PP is somewhat more elegant and understated as compared to the JLC with its white leather strap.

But the PP may not find much wrist time as it is quite bling bling and may not be as comfortable to wear as compared to a leather strap.

Can only comment on the aesthetics only as i am pretty much the ultimate noob when it comes to the mechanisms and intricacies of how a watch.

just my 2 cents.

My pick pp cos looks more dressy less tool like n ur lady will appreciate the accuracy of quartz. That's IMHO.

my chioce is JC too because two years ago i bought the some model (no diamonds) to my home minister hehe :)

Patel Philippe is my Favorite watch But between this i will go for JLC....
