Title: AP Rubberclad
Post by: rfc on May 19, 2013, 03:55:37 PM
I'm thinking this could be my next watch, I like the diver, the SS rubber clad and of course one day maybe even the RG version however whilst the watch feels comfortable in the shop I wander how it feels as an every day wear in the tropics.  I am assuming unless you wear it very loose it will get quite sweaty and uncomfortable.  Any feedback from members who wear rubber straps in Malaysia?

No problem at all if U wear it one finger loose.. Btw why rubber clad? I read from other forum the rubber bezel is not cheap and not durable at steel..

Sweaty yes..Uncomfortable, a little. The added advantage of rubber over leather is that at least you still can open the watch and wash it. For AP, to me currently owning one, it is comfortable but the strap is always either too tight or too loose on my wrist.

Good question.  I already own a SS RO, I personally find the bracelet a scratch magnet with the bezel itself is very prone to even the smallest of dings.  I am extremely careful and conscious however all it takes is someone to brush past you and there is the tiniest of dings

I was practically sitting on rubberclad or diver last year. At the end, I picked Diver over rubberclad over few reasons. First, diver rubber wears more comfortable on wrist. If you are comfortable with a big wrist like pam, u wont have any issue with diver. Rubber is good for summer cos you can wash it regularly. I sweat a lot so I will prefer rubber or ss over leather strap. Indeed, rubber is easier to clean than ss. I have no problem wearing it any time. I enjoyed wearing diver than even nautilus.

Navy is a good choice. Less common than panda, safari or volcano. Seen here on a 6.5" wrist and XS rubber strap. The gap you see between the strap and wrist in the first picture is where the deployant clasp sits.

Stick to your ap diver .you wouldn't like the folding clasp on the navy. The diver you have is a more comfy wear.regards tony.

In my opinion, the ROO having a heavy 'head' is best with the deployant clasp. That has saved the watch at least twice (while I was removing it) from getting very well acquainted with the floor...  :Startled:

A steel classic of 41 mm on ss bracelet would have been a better choice if you plan to wear it more often. Regards tony.
