Different people have different opinion..For me there are at least 3-4 watches that deserved in that list like PP nautilius, Seiko GM, Zenith El Primero & ahemm..certain Panerai model like the Destro..

GO Senator Navigator is basically the B-Uhr (type A) Flieger. As such, it is a homage to a design that is not unique to GO. In fact Stowa, IWC, Wempe, Laco, A Lange & Sohn as the original five WW2 manufacturers of B-Uhrs have a better claim as representatives to the "look". I'd substitute the historic Panerai Radiomir design in it's place.

AP ROO, I'd substitute with the PP Nautilus. No real reason, I prefer the more unique look of the Nautilus. But then the AP ROO is more recognisable so it is a "legend" after all.

Rolex Datejust has so many variations to the dial design, ubiquitous to the point of having a generic look, I hesitate to put it in my list. Instead, I'd say the Daytona would be a better fit as an iconic legend in the list.

The rest I can agree with.

YMMV

In my opinion, the IWC Port Chrono and the GO are less iconic from the whole lot and from afar, it would be a bit difficult to pinpoint the model and brand. I'd substitute the GO with an IWC Big Pilot. I however find it a bit mind boggling as to why the IWC Port Chrono is in the list but somehow I can't think of an appropriate watch to substitute it with.

Sub, AP, JLC and even the Speedie. IWC and maybe a few others at a push but nothing from PP..... Mmm

I'm personally surprised as a self avowed Breitling "fan" that I don't have a Navitimer in my collection.  :police:
 :Blue:

I'll need to remedy that.

Wrong picture for the portugese I think. Should be the one without chrono.

GO Senator ...... ..... interesting choice ........

Personally I would replace that with a PP calatrava instead.

My "fantasy" legends list:
Okay.

1) Replace the IWC Portuguese with IWC Big Pilot (representative for Fliegers)
2) Replace GO Senator Navigator with Panerai Radiomir (historical WW2 design)
3) Replace Rolex Datejust with Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. (because)

It seems like this supposed "legend" list is more of a sport watch list.

I would include PP Nautilus & Zenith El-Primero into the list, and swap datejust with Daytona (totally agree with STT1987).

Guys, isn't the IWC Big Pilot is not even a true pilot watch. It's the same story with the GO Senator, a B-Uhr which is a navigator watch.

If is the B-Uhr then that's not an IWC design but more of the german military design.

I kind of agree with you.

That's why I feel that the truly worth owning IWC should be Portuguese.

IWC port chrono is among the top ten simply because it looks so balanced and elegant. Incidentally, I picked it over port 7 days too. No doubt that port 7 days has a more superior movement than port chrono. However port chrono dial is just so appealing. Yes, I am biased. So as quite a number of my friends too. I have never hear anyone criticized my iwc port chrono before. But rollie, pam, pp and ap? Hxxx yes. lol.

Tuna.

And maybe 6105, 6309, and even Monster are more iconic than half of those.

But definitely Tuna.
