Title: Spent almost a day at watch shops
Post by: peanut on March 29, 2010, 06:10:22 PM
Today is my off day so I went to Pavillion. First stop was at Red Army and changed my Blancpain bracelet to leather strap. The off to Hour G**** and check out the Alain Siberstein and Patek. I really like one of the AS but will wait for a little bit more discount!

Then I went to KLCC C****** and tried on my favorite IWC Port Auto, Graham Swordfish, Blancpain Fifty Fathom, JLC Amvox DBS, VC Oversea, Cartier Santos 100, Rolex Explorer II, omega Seamaster, etc. Could not decide which will be my next watch. I narrow down to Blancpain Fifty Fathom and IWC Port Auto!  It was a fun day watch browsing but luckily no damage done and thanks to David for entertaining me for almost 2-3 hours!  :Dancing_banana:

i advise against JLC AMVOX DBS....it jams at times when you press the SC to activate the chronograph.

Blancpain FF is a good choice..classic, robust, eye-catching and comes with F.Piguet movement. IWC Port....hmmm....pretty neutral to that (all depends what you lack in your collection).

Rolex Explorer II - i suggest you wait for possible new version in 2011

Graham - not worth it...personally i don't like the "goldfish eyes"

Omega seamaster - yes yes!!

sure hope to see your new watches soon!

Pardon my ignorance, Red army in Pavilion? (must have lost touch).

Who's is this David?. Tell me more.

Never do watch window shopping for a long time (esp. whole day). Wish I have the time

David, yes there is a Red Army on lot 4.04.00 at Pavillion.  It is more like a stall in the middle.  The people there are quite nice.  David is Scott's sales contact at Cortina KLCC.  I used to deal with others at Cortina at Star Hill and Hour Glass and Sincere until I got two time pieces from him.  He is quite OK.  In fact James may get a VC from him too   ;D

It was fun doing this but if you are doing window shopping, my advice is not to carry your credit card around!  I was nearly RM26k to 30k in debt today!  :Laughing_on_floor:

Oh ... BTW, the price increase for Omega will be effective on Apr 15.  Likely JLC and IWC may also have price increase soon.  Omega price increase is confirmed but the other 2 are not confirmed.

Peanut - Thanks. Think you're right. Must not carry credit card along when doing (watch) window shopping. Kena trap at any given moment.

Nevertheless, enjoy your purchase.
