Title: Tudor Novelties Basel 2013
Post by: danny on April 24, 2013, 11:16:42 PM
Looks like Tudor has gone "blue black" this year with the release of a PVD chronograph and a modern day interpretation of its iconic Montecarlo chronograph reference 7169.

What do you guys think of these 2 new Tudor timepieces:

That blackshield Tudor is giving me a seriously bad case of "the wants!"
     :Praying:

You know... Does this mean that Rolex is using this Tudor PVD/ceramic case to test the waters for a similar offering in it's own Rolex sports line? Just unwarranted speculation on my part...

 ;D  ;D  :Startled:

Hehehe... The exact same thought was on last year's Pelagos when it was made in titanium.
The new heritage blue chrono is an interesting release... Rrp looks like it's similar to the older heritage chrono but it comes with flyback function.

I'd pick the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue. It has the classical look which is timeless. Over time i would love it more and more... Well, I love the combination of old style and modern look. Thats just my preferences, others may differ...

I've been looking for a nice black ceramic cased watch and the Tudor Blackshield seems to fit.
I guess one needs to see the black/red contrast in the metal..oops ceramic, to see if its too gaudy or will it be classic enough.

The pricing would also be a deal breaker based on the following:
Tudor Blackshield comes with only a ETA 7753 ebauche
Omega Dark side of the Moon OTOH, also ceramic cased features a much better cal. 9300 in- house co-axial with Si escapement.
The Zenith Stratos with the very old El Primero 36,000 vph is another ceramic option.

It all boils down to the price points besides the aesthetical preferences.

I wonder if Tudor will release a ceramic cased Pelagos in 2014... now that's another interesting option..

Like the Heritage Chrono Blue a lot. Just saw a couple of the real vintage (they call it monte carlo) posted for sale with ridiculous asking price of close to usd12k. Might as well wait for this modern version. Got a feeling this will sell very well.

The Fastrider is simply to die for! IMHO, it would look very macho with the Nato Ducati strap. The Ducati full-face makes a good accessory to wear the Fastrider with

To tell the truth, chronos looks more masculine when wearing it but ive never ever use the function at all. The only time im using it is when i hv nothing to do with my watch or showing off to my kids the chrono movement ;D ;D ;D They love it especially when reseting it.

Totally adore the Gold-black Blacksheld. Details on the hand is superb, the red second hand is a nice touch, and the suede straps just breath class.

Tudor did splendid this time round.

Totally agree with you in that.

The Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue appeals to me but I'm concerned that the flyback feature may put unnecessary strain on a potential buyer's budget.

Suspect the 'fly back feature' is Tudor talk for reset.

I see. That makes sense now.
Thanks for interpreting the "Tudor Talk".

Tudor is doing really well with their heritage range. Good decision. I feel it is even more exciting than its bigger brother these days.

The Heritage Chrono blue looks fantastic... just that it looks almost the same as my MC... minus the bezel...
