The website says unveiling on the 24th April...
Not long now.
But based on this pic... what say you guys?
(http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss179/hanz079/Rolex_teaser_2_html_main_zps04ac2e95.jpg) (http://s573.photobucket.com/user/hanz079/media/Rolex_teaser_2_html_main_zps04ac2e95.jpg.html)
Pic is from Rolex website.
My take is this.
Fat lugs = SubC or GmtIIc
Polished Centre Links = GmtIIc
Rotating Bezel = SubC or GmtIIc
Nothing much can be done to a SubC at the moment, I am guessing a new look GmtIIc... a pepsi or coke ceramic bezel.
All hell breaks loose!!!
That's wishful thinking.
-
The last time Rolex updated their GMT Master is in 2007 (116710). I think there is possibility of a facelift. larger hour marker perhaps.
Finger crossed for a pepsi bezel.
-
This website says it's a Yacht-Master:
http://www.cpp-luxury.com/new-launches-at-baselworld-2013/
"ROLEX – Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master, a sailors’ watch introduced in 1992, undergoes a major facelift this year in both its design and technology. The new model, which has an Oyster case made of a patented alloy called Rolesium, and a cool, blue dial with brushed sunray pattern."
-
Properly GMT II Ceramic coke or pepsi bezel with 42mm case...
-
That pic looks like any other Rolex to me :-\
I have no imagination :P
-
What happened to the news of a new Daytona??
-
should be yatch master.
-
I think GMTII also..
-
GMT II or YM
-
I remember seeing a patent file by Rolex for a fly-back chrono mechanism ... ... maybe we will see a new Daytona?
Regard
Tyler

I thought that YM was launched last year?
Already on sale and quite a few owners already I see...
-
Oh Tyler do tell us more about the patent.
Didnt read this news anywhere before.
-
YM2, perhaps.

-
The GMT is very nice!!
-
Nice really nice, wonder what is the RRP for the yact master 2, more achievable compare to the previous three version.
-

-
is it the picture or could be my eyes, somehow I feel that the casing for Daytona is slightly different
-
Very nice GMT II blk/blue and the SS YMII! The Daytona 950 platinum is probably priced at the Skydweller level - out of reach for many of us! ???
-
disappointed...I expected a cerachrom steel daytona or a pepsi gmt2c
-
ahh.. now that the suspense is over, i just saved a lot of money...
-
and here i thought they were going to right the wrong that is the 39mm Exp I.

Hmmm? What;s so wrong about the 39mm Explorer?

Hmmm? What;s so wrong about the 39mm Explorer?
the typical - short hands :D
on its own, it looks ok, until its side by side with the 36mm.

thanks for pointing that out....
Was going to pull the trigger on a new 214270 Explorer I although I had a nagging feeling that something looked odd compared to the 114270.
Just couldn't put my finger on it until I looked at both models side by side in pics.
Is it just me or is Rolex regressing in design/colors... run out of ideas, have they?

Although I haven't seen the real one in live, I think I will like it. Not "too" colorful and yet cool enough for both sport and formal wear. Very handsome...
When can we see the real ones in Malaysia. Will there be any difference in price compared to 116710LN?
-
I for one thinks those nicknames is just stupid.
Just call it by its model or ref number i say.

which nickname?
mine or the 'short hands'? :P
anyway, the 39mm Exp I is still a nice watch, i especially have a soft spot for blue lume like on the newer models.
but just like the newer models, there are always complaints...short hands, maxi dials...im sure there are others :P

Best nickname I have heard so far is the Rolex BMT (Bluewich Meridian Time) lol...
-
Hmmmm.....a BLT would be good right now..... :P
-
The blue remind me of Powerade

The blue in the GMT II spice up the look without being too overbearing. I quite like the colour combo. Is this the maxi case as with the new Sub, coz it doesn't look too squarish in the pics?
-
The GMT II looks simply marvelicious and IMHO, will win quite a fair bit of suitors pretty soon
-
Would rather reserve comment on the "Bruiser" until much later. Right now, I think the blue and black just don't match. But then I used to think the new ceramic blue and also the green dial Subs were ugly when they were first released.
-
I will call the new GMT = AVATAR
-
Apparently these are the new stainless steel daytonas...
Anyone wanna play spot the difference?

Lugs and crown guard are the only changes. Minor things.
-
I think it look a bit endomorph compared to past models. Perhaps a more squarish case. Have to see in person to confirm. If fact when looked back into the history, Daytona did become gradually more chunky on every update.
I think CKL1213 will agree with me.
is it the picture or could be my eyes, somehow I feel that the casing for Daytona is slightly different
-
Unless side by side i seriously cant tell any diff.
-
Peter, The lugs on the right side running towards the crown guard are made thicker to even up to the lugs on the left. If you look carefully on the previous model , you will notice that the lugs on the left are thicker than those on the right . but the solid gold model had an earlier upgrade than this.. regards tony

Very nice color combination for the new GMT, can't wait to see it in person!
