Title: Watch flipping
Post by: nasa on April 09, 2013, 10:16:45 PM
How often do you guys flip your watches? As for me I've only done it once before..

This...

For this

At the time I was looking for the Coke model..Since I didn't have enough cash & the dealer didn't accept c/card reluctantly my old Subs had to give way..It was hard but I kept telling myself there's plenty of other Subs that I can buy back in the future..but damn, that was hard!! I guess i'm not good at saying goodbye after all!! Hopefully don't have to do that again in the future!!

How about you guys?? Any painful, heart breaking, tear jerking "goodbye" experience??

So far not yet...because I make sure that all my sellers accept credit cards....with very looooooooooooooooong repayment periods. With election coming, might be a good idea to start lobbying for watches to be accepted on hire purchase...... :Laughing_on_floor:

Never had any heartache as I always flip to upgrade. The incoming piece always removes all sentiments I had for the outgoing one..

Since I only dispose a watch when I notice that I've stopped wearing it after almost a year or more and each time when I to pick up a watch to wear, these are almost always overlooked. So, no...no regrets on selling...
well maybe only 1 so far, the Rollie Sea Dweller... should have kept that in 199x..

Bro...most banks can give you up to 24 months. But the one that gives the longest repayment period is Ah Long Bank but the interest rate is a killer....I understand that that is because they have quite a high consumption of red paint and high payroll cost for burly men......in fact their terms prohibit you from paying early.......you can have as long as you want........ :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor: :Laughing_on_floor:

Just joking lah bro......although sometimes when I walk in to some preowned luxury watch shop, I feel its owned by Ah Long Bank.

Hahahaha...But I heard in overseas watches can be used as collateral for securing loan purposes.. Wondering when it'll be available in Malaysia..So instead of resorting to pawnshop or ah long we can use our watches as another forms of savings during rainy day..

When I saw the word "flipping", I always associate it with buying and selling with a small profit, ie. flipping condos/ houses, flipping other collectives (toys)
But I guess for watches, we will always ended up losing money?
In which case, I will refrain myself from flipping too much :p

Flipping? unless I am loaded or getting a profit.

Every watch that I have has certain sentimental value

in watch flipping is not about the profit, the flipper just want to get rid of the watch ASAP so that to bring in another one

Indeed. I've seen some flamewars erupt on forums over a flipper who's dishonest and lowballs to get a good price then flip the same watches overnight at a higher price or on another forum.

Happens everyday everywhere.
Willing seller willing buyer i guess.
And how loaded one is to offer to buy always.
