Just out of curiosity, I wonder how do you guys wear your precious watches.
Do you wear one model per week and change the next on the other week?
Or do you wear that one for one month or so....
I wear different watch everyday. Over the weekend I wear 2 watches one in the morning and changed the other in the afternoon. Also have tried 3 in a day.
Just that for changing the watch everyday I need to screw and unscrew the crown of each watch which may cause the gasket wear and tear even faster.
How do you guys go about it and what do you think of wearing different watches everyday?
-
I rotate one per week.
Edited: And usually I wear digital (i.e. gshock) on weekends.
-
I rotate once every couple of days.
But some do get more wrist time than others.
But when one gets absolutely ZERO wrist time, time to move it out.
-
i rotate every other day. sometimes i wear the same watch for a few days i.e 3 days in a row
-
i have 1 watch for workdays, another 1 for weekends and 1 gshock for casual/sports.
there are also 2 watches which i usually keep at home and only worn on special occasions
-
When I get tired of one, I switch to another. This happens every few days so all my watches get worn often. I like to take them out and see the sun (or moon) so they don't get too bored in the safe.
The crown, gaskets and crown tube are usually replaced during service so they should last in between unless you expose the watch (and yourself) to extremely harsh environments.

Get a winder
dc
-
Wearing down the crown and gaskets should be cheaper than wearing down the whole movement no?
-
all mine have date, and i dont put them on winders.
so when i see one that has stopped a week or so, i'll probably put it on.
-
I match them with the shirt or shoe I am wearing for the day...makes life simple
-
change every day!

Brother can you clarify?
Do you mean that to sacrifice the gasket as a result of unscrew and screw the crown is cheaper than using a winder that will sacrifice the movement due to prolong wear and tear of the engine continuos movement?

1. Winders aren't cheap and cost money to operate (electricity). They don't last forever too. They cost money to replace.
2. Anything that keeps moving will wear down eventually, sooner or later. You want sooner or later?
-
Whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. No rotation system.
-
usually it's the beater for slow office days...
and everything else for no particular reason unless I'm suiting up :)

Thanks brother for your clarification.
So I will continue my daily unscrew and screw routine

Change mine daily.

According to occasion and dress for the day....I am only in shirt and tie when its absolutely necessary. So its the sports models most times. The rest sit in the winders and I have the winders on only about a couple of hours once a week. So I am constantly adjusting when I put them on.
-
I have a swapping system whereby I take 3 watches out and change them every 8 hours. That way I wear all 3 in a day. Finicky I know. :Laughing_on_floor:

wow.. sleeping with a watch on. dedication!

I rotate 2 per week, one for workdays and one for weekends... :Dancing_banana:

hi.
I rotate the watch at least once a week. To prolong the screw in crown for automatic watch condition, I just wind the that watch without correcting the time/date to lubricate those movement. It is no use to correct the time/date if the watch stay in the box right? You not gonna wear it anyway maybe in a week.
-
I rotate weekly.
-
I rotate daily
Sometimes twice in a day
-
I rotate as often as I can... but I'll be honest... a lot of my watches don't get much wrist time other than being worn around the home... I'm too scared of bashing them.
The one that gets the most wrist time is my modded Seiko Sumo.

rotation on a weekly basis and have been doing this regularly for years now..30 watches or so
-
Same here 30 watches and so
Just that my poison got serious that I wear rotate 2 to 3 watches during weekend
-
For me it totally depends on my attire. I make sure it matches, colour wise and of course whether its casual, dressy or sporty...
-
I'll rotate everyday
-
Take for example...daily screw and unscrew the crown for a rolex 6694, these crown/tube would last approx. 2-3 years. The 6694 engine is a tough work horse thats need little maintenance for the past 30 years or so.....
Which then boils down to the question; you want 'which one' to 'go' sooner or later
Yup, I said ...take for example...lah

I wear whatever I feel like wearing in the morning. Sometimes I even wear orange bezel TAG F1 to the office. I also sometimes wear a DJ during weekend.

Very tempting for me to wear orange dial watch to office but have no gut, cause find it too informal. Have 4 orange dial watch for rest days only
;D
Btw whats DJ bro?

DJ = Datejust. And thanks for correcting - not orange bezel but orange dial.
