Title: Don't you just hate SIHH and Basel?
Post by: JPSP on March 22, 2010, 07:07:48 AM
Just a thought.

While everyone agree that the launches of new models, technology, evolution and progress of the watch industry are exciting, it leaves me feeling a bit depressed seeing all the new models being launched every year and the feeling that one of your watches is now "outdated". For example, my Breguet 21 that was bought less than a year ago is now "outdated", LV Rollie is now being "replaced" and etc...

Perhaps i should have waited to get the new Breguet 22/Rollie LV?? I need to spend more $$ to upgrade my collection? I can't afford to buy the new stunning piece? The new watch now further press down your watch's resale value (it's already pathetic)?

Anyone feels this way?

cheers

For rolex sport model, new watch hardly press down the resale value for the old model, mostly will boost it resale value because it's already discontinued.  ;D

Just buy what you like, no need to buy what's the latest on market.

Not necessarily true for some Rolex models for example old TT sub's resale value didn't increase when the new version was launched last year.
