Title: Ball chronograph owners - please help
Post by: boeid on April 02, 2013, 07:13:12 AM
Hi,

First - this question is kinda stupid so proceed cautiously, dont want to spoil your day  ;)

I just bought a Ball Ionosphere LE over the weekend and this is my first chronograph watch - ever. Anyway, when I got home, I realised that the main/central second dial did not move, it remained at 12 o'clock position but the second sub-dial at 9 o'clock position did.
I wonder shouldnt in normal time that all three central dials move/rotate? and only when using the chronograph function that the three subdials (second at 9, minute at 12 and hour at 6) move?

Appreciate your advice before I go to the dealer and embarrass myself  :-[

Cheers!

Normal.
The running second hand is on 9 o'clock.
The center second hand only move when you engage the chrono function.
This is the typical characteristic of Valjoux/ETA 7750 movement.
Enjoy your new watch.

Yeah manuals are damn overated. Just throw out it out the window, infact throw out any appliance manuals the moment you buy anything.

Just curious, you are not convinced of the writings and words of a big watch corporation with copious amount of authorised distribution and servicing points around the world but yet choose to trust the advice and words of faceless/nameless strangers on the Internet?

After read the following comment , I just feel  :Laughing_on_floor:

yeah, that's typical valjoux 7750. It is good to share your experience before you accidentally blindly push the chronograph and broke the movement inside. Take care of your watch and avoid it from fall to floor and not to operate the chronograph under water  .

;D cheers
