Saw a similar topic on another forum and thought I would pose the question.
Apple are said to be developing a IWatch, Gshocks have Bluetooth and I believe there may already be a pebble on the market. I love apple products and we all appear to love connectivity but I can never see a time when I would give up a mechanical watch for something like this.
What do MWF think?
-
No thanks.
-
No for me as well...
Nothing wrong for checking sms and/or email on phone, wrist reserve for watches, mechanical watch preferably.
-
No.
-
-
LOL you asked the wrong forum i guess.
-
So it would appear! For me I agree 100%, I can't ever see it replacing a mechanical watch but then again I guess it would never be marketed to Watch Enthusiasts - let hope Apple are watching! LOL
-
i would, for casual occasions
the ipod nano 6 makes a good watch too
-
absolutely not

Not putting anything that runs on batteries on my wrist....in fact manual labour preferred over automatic... :Jumping:

Reviving an old thread in light of apple putting their new iWatch on sale pretty soon! Personally, i won't buy it for sure! I have an iPhone and iPad, i don't need another ipad/ipod/iphone like devices on my wrist!

Big NO for me

In fact I think it's quite nice to wear this on your wrist. As at now, I don't think I want to spend money on this. The iWatch is still in its infancy stage. Give it some time to mature. Who knows it might be in your wish list in the future.

Too many electronic devices around us nowadays. Don't want them to wrap around my wrist. Go green, go mechanical
-
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

With the risk of being labelled "uncle", I'll stick to my Rolex and my Xiaomi.. ;D
-
I don't mind wearing an Iwatch on one wrist and a mechanical watch on another.

A rolex = uncle already :Laughing_on_floor:
-
I dont mind, if i see the necessity doing so. I see beauty in both mechanical and the opposite.
-

Nope, although it is interesting but it does not equal to the quality and artistic level of mechanical watches
-
What? Is that a watch?

Many many many years from now. Watch enthusiasts and historian will call this period as the iwatch crisis. some watch makers are beginning to embrace the new digital age by integrating software features into their watch. Similar to the previous quartz crisis when watch maker made the switch.
One major flaw of a digital watch is the life expectancy. How long would you able to wear the watch before the battery expires (worst case scenario explodes on your wrist) or component becomes obsolete.
Personally am already trying to unplugged digitally so that i can have more time with family (a tablet and 2 phones are distracting enough).

Well said alex........ Couldnt agree more!
