Title: Polishing titanium watches
Post by: moxxjet on January 19, 2013, 05:41:22 AM
Hi all, I went to a watch specialist to inquire whether polishing a titanium watch was possible and they said it wasn't. But having read the net, they said yes. Would anyone know whether it's possible n where in klang valley? It's a pam176 btw. Sad to see the scratches be cumulated over the years :/ Any suggestions are most appreciated!

If it is satin hairline finish,no problem, but if it is mirror finish, that's not easy.

Hi All,

As what has been told by ingchoon is totally true...

I'm in the midst in developping a titanuim polishing process for Tissot brand...:)

It's totally crack my head.... :HammerHead:

Actually, it's depend on the which grade of the titanium...there is titanium G2,G4,G5 and so on...

The higher the grade, the easiest to polish...but it is verry hard to polish...

What do you mean "satin hairline finish"? Any reference?

Does the bracelet on Omega Planet Ocean Ti belong to this category?  ;)

Hi,

Satin finishing is a finishing achived by using a sandpaper or scotch brite bistle media...

You may found it on the watch bazel... or on the side of watch case...

it may have 2 type of satin finishing...vertical (straight line) or circular satin...
