Saw these 2 watches today at an established watch shop in SS2 PJ.
This needs no introduction.
Crappy phone pics:

This is a very solid watch. Built quality is fantastic and feels comfortable on the wrist. I am already poisoned by this.
Another piece which I have no knowledge of. This is at the GS price range.

I think the 2nd watch is the Ananta series?
Judging frm the words on the dial.
But i thought the ananta series only had chrono models.
If its the price of the GS then i might as well get GS instead.

Did some digging, sorry its not the Ananta series, dial just says "automatic" haha.
Its under the Seiko Mechanical SARL001, SARL003 and SARL004 line.
From the pics online looks to be very well built.

Agreed. And GS comes with a better calibre 9 series (compared to this unit's 8L series) and finishing.

Yes! The poison was overwhelming. I went back to the shop later that evening and pulled the trigger.
Will post some pics when I have some free time to do a photo shoot and mini review.
FYI, was told that these models are imported by Thong Sia which came as a surprise to me. I always assumed these JDM models are brought in by the shops themselves. My warranty card is stamped by the shop and waranty / service / repairs will be taken care by Thong Sia which is good news. Thong Sia has been trying for many years to bring such models to Malaysia. But for reasons unknown, Seiko Japan is very reluctant to do it. But once in a while, they will give Thong Sia limited quantities of JDM models. This shop was allocated 5 sumos. When I was at the shop, they had only 2 left. By the evening, only 1 left. Better move fast for those who are interested.
Hopefully, more JDM models will come into the Malaysian market seeing how sell able they are.

All my babbling and I did not mentioned the model I purchase. It's the sumo!
The other one is way out of my price range. And I would rather buy a GS for that kind of money.

Must bring it out for the next gathering!
And whenever you see a sumo inform me ya haha

Will do!
BTW everyone, the dial of the sumo is black. Not blue as what it may appear to be from my pics.
