Title: NOS hunters
Post by: Yoda on December 21, 2012, 06:27:36 AM
Dear members

Any NOS hunters out there?

Where is the good place to hunt?

Anyone out there has this experience?

I was told by some watch dealers that there is some group going around small town to hunt for NOS

Care to share your experience if you are one?

I got this during my last hunting season

sometimes they are display units, and some potential customers might have touch them, tried them, changed batt(not in the case) or slight mishandling by staff.

There isn't any AD left in KL that sells NOS, but there is one place you can try when you drive along the Federal Highway turn into left on your way from PJ heading to KL exit after the PJ Hilton when you see the Wisma LBS I think.

Once you enter that small town (welcome to Pandora), you may surprise that there is still a village type looking town in Klang valley.

In there there are a few AD you can check it out.

After PJ hilton, the next exit will be the Amcorp exit , thereafter Pantai baru , so which one ? WISMA LBS in ampang ?

Managed to find the place?

There is one AD there displaying his museum collection. If you can pursuade him to let go some of his old Seiko collection if your are interested then you are great as I have failed.

I don't even know that this place is called Sungei Way. I thought Sungei Way is at the Guiness factory there.

Btw have you heard of Sungei Way Joe , a comic character many years back? Anything to do with Sungei Way?

Also Jinjang Joe anyone heard of this? Why Joe? No offence to those Joe brothers but I am just curious.

Yoda,
I think your direction to the Wisma LBS area is the opposite. Should read like this "..... but there is one place you can try when you drive along the Federal Highway, turn into left on your way from PJ heading to KL exit BEFORE the PJ Hilton when you see the Wisma LBS.......".
This area is the Sg Way New village, plenty of makan place and almost half the place is inhabited by foreigners working in the factories nearby. Wisma LBS is the HQ for Lim Bok Sang group of companies, nearby is a police station, Sg Way Chinese primary school and a wet market. Opposite the wet market, there are 3 shops selling watches, mostly cheap casio, orient, seiko, qq etc brand to cater for the people locally, I think. One may find some good NOS there.

Sg Way covers the area from Guniess Anchor factory, Section 51A opposite the Federal Highway and the area I mentioned in the paragraph above. I believe Sg Way Joe is supposed to be originated from Sg Way. Jinjang Joe is a phrase for one who hails from Jinjang. The "Joe" here denotes "fella" as in Jinjang Joe = Jinjang fellow.  :Laughing_on_floor:

if i understand your directions, that would mean turn into jalan 222 area?
then the shophouses are the ones on the right turning that leads to sri aman school?

ok, nevermind.
checked google earth.
that turning is actually 2 turnings before PJ Hilton, and is the first turning on the left that you see soon as you exit the sunway bridge onto federal going to KL.
