We are proud to present MWF is going for our very 1st official project watch for our active member
the MWF project watch has been discuss for years, we finally decided to have one for the coming Annual GTG
last annual GTG we have our official polo T done, coming annual GTG we wish we can achieve this
back ground
many members who have exposure in international watch forum is hoping to have our very own project watch here in MWF, however MWF a young watch forum in a small country with small population do not have the numbers to have a project watch at affordable cost. We been rejected by many manufacturers and we also dropped idea to work with others due to budget and confidence issues. to cut the story short, today we would like to announce, our very 1st MWF watch is confirmed and started.
The watch

Yeah ! it is a bronze case watch ! 46 mm
with a curve lug case, it should wear smaller and sit well on smaller wrist !
the diver bezel is so unique and the pvd bezel marker and crown matching the overall bronze case and bezel
Swiss eta 2824-2 will be used
watch will come with dark brown leather strap and a matching pvd buckle
15 of this to be made exclusively for MWF members

Thank you VDB for accepting our small number of order !
for those who do not know VDB, they are a new and small watch brand from German who very very focus in their business. creating modern watches with very vintage design and feel. They did mostly custom watch for individual with vintage / modern movement. till last year only they have their very first series watch, the VDB 2011 which also very very limited nos.

Current Status
15 nos deposit paid
design confirmed
and VDB started to work on these 15 watches
hopefully VDB would spend some times to update here

Thank you again for the members who believe in this project and make it happen.
Its a tough start but we have to start somewhere.
VDB has also sign up as members here so from time to time they will update the progress of the watch here.

For a fat boy like me, can I ask for a long strap? (200mm in total without the buckle). Or all standard measurement straps?

28mm after market strap is very hard to come by....
have to be custom made... dude... :-[

Nothing hard to find online now...
Plenty of custom strap...
Or y not ask vdb?
I believe they will post their service soon once v set up the merchant section for them

Sorry for correction:
the Watch will get the normal VDB size buckle in 28mm, but the buckle that comes with the VDB Rubberstrap is 26mm

A member posted a mystery watch from VDB in another post. I wonder if there are plans for a second MWF Project watch. I missed the first by a couple of months. Am game if there is a second round.

I wonder what were the challenges in the first project? Getting the numbers from interested members willing to commit? How much of input was available to members in deciding the final outcome, in terms of design, complications, movement and price point? Just curious to know.

Yes. Every1 hv different opinion, every1 love different thing... Even among the mods hv different opinion! If I posted do u want a pilot, diver or a dress watch? U will end up to hv 3 Grp of ppl wanted different n mayb another few suggesting y not some rare thing....
If we are doing a rm500 project, I believe many will support whether they like the design!
When come to a rm5000 watch, it is not easy....
The key issue! Mwf in term of active members... Still a small community!
Hence we will never get enough committed member, without the no, u can nvr get customization at good price, simply Bcoz of no economical of scale...
This very first Mwf project gangsa watch indeed marked a milestone for Mwf!
Be patient! With the speed of Mwf member growth... My confidence is growing !
We will hv announcement once we are firm on something!
U can always post here / even pm me if you hv anything in mind....

Thanks Chris. Never easy building consensus. But the final outcome justifies in most instance.
Looking forward to a second project. Fingers crossed if viable. Maybe can run a survey to surface the most wants?
