Title: Interesting Rolex
Post by: TheHobbit on November 03, 2012, 07:02:35 AM
I understand these were prototypes (perhaps even uncompleted), but if they were actual issued watches, would you get one?

I know I would. Well maybe not the last one....

Well, a toughie for me. But I would prefer a rail dial with minute markers included. Need precise timing in my line of job.

No minute markers?

Yeah no minute markers. Evidently there are a few floating around. Understand there is also a GMT Master version and Explorer II version, also without the minute markers.

It's definitely unique.

Do l like it? Maybe. I am unsure.

I would rather have the no crown version of the Sub or GMT.

Tyler

odd looking if you ask me.

are you sure they were prototypes or made like that or were they modded dials?

According to those that have them says that these watches were prototypes .... yet others claim that these dials were discarded dials (damaged?) that somehow made their way to the watches. Who knows who is right and who is wrong.....

Would be cool to see the older Seadweller with ceramic bezel and the vintage yellow maxi markers. A touch of technology and heritage. The Deepsea looks plain pathetic.

Looks all the more unique without the minute markers. If the prices are within reach, I would fork out the cold, hard cash for these unique Rollies.
