Mine in the box:

As you can see from the photo it sports a rubber shroud to protectvit against shocks and scratches. The crown is at the 4 o'clock position. it has wide lugs too at 22mm.
Close up of dial:

The dial is only in black colour but has generously sized hour markers and hands, which makes telling the time an easy job. The lume is also well applied. The bezel is undirectional and rotates in 12o clicks. There is a day date window at the 3 o'clock position. This function is a must for me,( i always forget the day and date.)
The caseback and bracelet:

The caseback sports the standard tsunami logo on all Seiko divers caseback. The bracelet is solid stainless steel and adjusted by pins. The clasp is a signed Seiko clasp.
The clasp:

The clasp is standard divers Z-type lock. Very well built.
The lume:

The lume on this watch is the lumibrite from Seiko, the best in town.
This watch comes with the relatively new 4R36 movement which has manual winding capability and second hand hacking.
Overall this watch is sturdy and well built. Although it is a tad heavy, i got used to it after a while.Hence i think that it is an stylish and yet affordable divers watch.
Hope you guys like this review. :Praying: Thanks.

Ah, that the new movement. Its being long time coming for them to come out with that movement.
Here my monster in older movement saying hi, its being running very well at around +1 or +3 per day after being tweak for slowing down.

Personally I prefer it in black metal on a black rubber strap with a red shroud.
Is this available in any Seiko dealer in KL?
Price around ??
Thanks..
-
Hi Jos,
unfortunately i'm not sure whether its availible in KL as i got mine from JB. :( However, i think a Seiko AD who carries a wide range of Seiko models should have it. The price i got it for was around RM 1650. I will give my fren a call to check and see in kl.
-
Hi Yap,
No worries. Just curious on the price rangeā¦. whether it was > RM 1K or less.
Any idea if the black pvd model on rubber strap is cheaper or more expensive than the stainless steel on bracelet that you have.
Thanks
-
Not sure about that as i hv not seen a model with pvd strap in shops yet.
-
Hi Yap, that is a very nice watch. In fact i nearly pulled the trigger on it when i first saw it online some time back. But what made me held back was the plastic/rubber shroud. I don't quite understand what material is that and how it will hold up with sweat and sea water in the long term. If Seiko was to give it a metal or an aluminium shroud like in the tuna, it will be a no brainer for me.
