Title: Minute Hands Miss-aligned
Post by: hanz079 on September 02, 2012, 04:48:09 PM
Imagine this.
New watch.
Setting time.
Pull out crown exactly when the seconds hands hit 12 o'clock.
Set the time to the minute.
Minute hand aligned with a minute marker.
Push the crown back in.
After a couple of hours, when the seconds hand hit 12 o'clock, minute hands no longer nicely aligned with a minute marker.
Might be over or after or in the middle of 2 minute markers.
Does it bother you?

it didn't require hours, it happened on the next minute. so when it fell short, i set my minute hand a bit forward and when it ran for a full minute the minute hand landed exactly on the minute marker. well sometime i missed :)

Yes.yes.yes

This one of my pet peeves together with hands that move when the crown is pushed back in and minute/hour hands not being perfectly aligned on every hour when the second hand hits 60.

The hands on all my previous 7750 powered watches used to move a little when the crown was pushed back in, so I got rid of all of them….

None of my current watches have the above faults…

a good watch shouldn't do that. is it misaligned at a specific place only or randomly??

p/s. if it is your latest acquisition doing this, then it should really bother you!

Some might call it OCD .Does not bother me as with all things mechanical , we would always have to allow some leeway for misalignments and the like. After all, that should not detract you from enjoying the watch. If you can throw that peeve out the window,I assure you that leaves more room in your mind to enjoy the watch
