Hey MWF,
I'm new to this forum and also a newbie in watches. I want to buy a pair of watch and my budget is RM2 000 to RM3 000.
I'm looking for something similar to Breitling Chronomat 44 GMT - http://www.breitling.com/en/models/chronom...ation/index.php
and Oris Artelier Chronograph - http://www.oris.ch/collections/collections...=en&modelid=234
and I prefer leather bracelet strap.
Obviously Breitling and Oris is out of my budget and I do not have enough knowledge on watches.
Please do recommend to me.

Take a look at Tissot..some of their model may meet ur budget..Happy hunting

There might be a BALL Fireman that just might meet your upper range of 3K if you go for a leather strap. I saw one in Melaka the other day that may fit the bill. Do not know the model. Inquire your local dealer. You just might get a good discount and still have some money left for lunch and dinner. :Dancing_banana:

Put it on your wrist n see which fits you best in terms of design n bonding around your wrist, buy the one that your heart n head desire most. Remember ,the best watch to own is the one that your pocket could afford. My pick: Oris n Ball... just my opinion. : :Saru welcome to MWF.. fr tony

Thanks for welcoming me.
How much does Oris cost?
For some reason, I've been having the urge to get a brand that normal people won't be familiar of. Haha.

Hi Saru , go to any AD n try on. There are so many models to choose from. If you don't plan to sell after using it , buy any brand you like will do. THe comment i made earlier was for resale consideration. regards tony

are you looking to buy a PAIR and total of RM3,000 or are you planning to spend RM3,000 for each one?
if a pair for RM3,000 then i don't think they'll be very nice watches.
if RM3,000 for each, why not use the RM6,000 for one nice watch?

Tissot should fit your budget.they have good looking watches too. If u can fork out more Longines will be great..

Sorry, I think I confused you. I meant one watch 3k.
I plan not to resell it but keep it as collection.
But as my first watch, I thought of getting something better than the usual.
Don't really know how to explain it but just something out of the ordinary.
So next time when I look at my watch, I'll be reminded how I got it.

In that case simplicity is the best option, then go to another level the next purchase. Look around all AD n narrow down to the one which you think you will still love

I was in Malacca yesterday and I found one by Oris.
But didn't ask the SA to let me have a look cause was in a rush.
But did the price is RM4 300
Something simple looking, nothing flashy but does look elegant.
Now I have to check around KL for it.
Oris is German or Swiss?
And any comments on IWC? Their watches seems nice too.

Yes, and thank you for your advice.
Do Oris come with leather strap or rubber?
I'm looking for those with leather solid end links.

saru04,yes Oris does come with rubber, leather and ss strap, sometimes it depends on the model you choose,be it diver, sports etc. etc.
By theway, yes Oris is Swiss.(I have one in my collection,Oris Diver Maldives-Limited Edition)

May I have a look at your watch? Pictures please? :)
I'm just thinking whether is Oris a good start.
Or should I try searching for other watches.
-
for your intended budget, Oris is a good start. the sticker prices are quite negotiable. the ETA movements aren't too bad. there are designs and sizes to cater for almost all tastes.
-
Okay, that boost my confidence in my decision.
Thank you very much!
