Both being the same price but the Zenith is without BnP. Whih one do you prefer and why?

Also the reason why I am always poor :'( Got this for the wife and no money left for myself

Black...
always thought that Black is a bit more expensive than White.
Just my preference
-
WHITE !
-
Ops.. maybe takashi thinks that white matches your wife more...
-
white is more distinct. rolex sports watches are mostly in black...why not take the white?
-
The black. Always 16520 over the current one. The dial is more elegant. I don't like the fat index and the off centre sub register.
Regard
Tyler

Hi terrence, after months of consideration i bought myself a white face 4130 model.reason 1: it looks bigger on my wrist,2: Rolex make very few white face sports model.3 : I can't see time clearly due to reflection from chrono sub dial n all hands in black face 4130 model .4: My eyes are aging as fast as me. Between the 4030 n 4130, I opt 4 the inhouse 4130 movement cause it has 72 hr power reserve, double coupling vertical clutch . In fact i also have a 4030 2 tone t series model. just my opinion..fr .tony.

Like the Black version...just looks sportier, easier to dress up or dress down.
And if you are "pantang" chinaman like me.....in Hong Kong, they have a nickname for white dial Rolex...they call "Pak-Low" in cantonese which loosely translated means you do all the work and no profit/money....hahaha.
So black is my choice between the 2 ..hehe..
Btw the YM for your wife is a great choice. I would have gotten that too for my other half if I had the budget.
Keep us updated, which you choose
-
Daytona for me has to be EP white
-
i go with the white as well
-
WHITE ! matches ur wife's YM
-
Nothing special bout the EP movt except it was a 'short production' model. The beat rate was also reduced.
I would go for Rolex's new in house movt for the Daytona.
-
Woah Bro!! Choi San Yeh good to you now eh?? ;D
Just the dial I would pick white... dun really mind the "pak-low" thing...
Both movements are great so I would go with either...
Moving up the food chain... I like that... hehehe

for the Daytona, white is always easier to read than black. if both the same price, get the newer ones. i really don't see what's better about the Zenith compared to the 4130.
very nice 168622 for your wife. i'm looking for a nice one as well.
-
I say black. The white ones are always available in the AD. There is a definitely a reason why the black ones are harder to find.
-
it's actually a 16622. She already have a Ladies DJ and Airking. So decided to get a larger 40mm watch for her instead.

in Asia, people prefer black. elsewhere, most prefer white. it's just hype and baseless taboos. many complain after awhile that the black is harder to read, not that the Daytona was an easy watch to read in the first place.
myself would definitely choose the newer watch over the older at the same price.
-
There is a red daytona word on both the white n black face...fr..tony..

Thanks for all the kind advice bros
Decided that it would be a white 116520.
Anyone have any idea what's the current retail in KL? would like to do a comparision between prices of preowned and new. With the current sky high charges of servicing, weighing the options before deciding to go the new or preowned path.
Thanks ;D

last year, at a certain AD in Starhill, i was window shopping and bought an Oris for a gift. after paying for the watch and chatting with the salesman and asking about the SS Daytona, he offered me the white 116520 at RM35k. ready stock available at another branch and offered to bring it over in 45mins for me to decide. i told him i'll think about it and RM35k was a little high. he said, if i really wanted it, we could "talk" a bit more. since I wasn't really looking to buy one, i declined.
going into another AD also in Starhill and haggling over a panda TT Daytona, my wife and I watched a salesman doing his "SS Daytona pitch" with a potential buyer who must have been a regular. he was going on about how hard they were to find and he placed a white and black on the table, just "fresh out from the safe" in their plastic carriers. the white was list price, no discount and the black had a premium.
Rolex prices have gone up a little since then but i'm sure there's a deal to be had if you haggle and meet the right salesman.
just a month or so prior to that, I was offered a pre-owned M series white for RM30k. assuming you get a used one at RM30k, add in an RSC service which will likely run around RM3k and you're getting really close to the price of a new watch at retail.
for the price of a new 116520, you could get a very nice pre-owned TT. i know we see all the pre-owned SS asking prices are in the RM30k+ range but who's actually buying them at that price?
bottom line, do you really want a SS or are you buying the hype?

And the yachtmaster really look like midsize on wrist instead of 16622 ... looks fine

Buy the Zenith one...Box very easy to search and paper, when you send in for authorised center for service, you can still get a card plus 2 years warranty.

It is an original Rolex that has been given a 'special treatment' by independent mod house. Seen and played with their products before. Rather well made, but then the base product itself is already good. As for the asking price, well .......
