Reading the topic title u won't get what I'm trying to tell
Last week experience
Went into a watch service shop at 1st flr of Amcorp mall with a watch fren
Saw a 22mm straps, quote like the design, the display price is rm65... A few of the same straps are displayed on the same shop at same price
When I ask the sales how much, any discount?
The reply is rm85.
I asked but u display rm65
He said the computer printed price is 85, he can't do anything...
I said if I bring this to tribunal, he has no case but to loose straight
Instead of discuss this with his boss he insisted the 85 n only talk to his computer

Thats why i never go in that shop.

When i was there ALL answers to the questions i asked in the shop was "i dunno, boss not here"

If bozz was inside, why not ask the bozz to clarify the matter. dumb staff. probably the bozz as dumb otherwise he wouldn't had hire him :)

Either the sales guy was not bright, or you dressed up too expensively. Compounded by your good poshy looks, maybe he was thinkng "Time to take out my longest and sharpest parang....".

Chris, I think I knew exactly which staff u were refering to. He's not an idiot just couldn't bother with u. I have similar experience and end up almost strangling the guy. I have to talk some sense to him for like 20 mins before he decide to realize that his job is to serve.
What can I say? There some funny ppl around. :shocked1:

Been there and bought a leather strap from them few months back, the boss is quite polite and helpful, he sort of 'customize' the strap for me on the spot as the strap couldn't fit to my watch.
The customization job is FOC, and punching a few more holes for my another watch's strap also FOC.
My experience with the lady 'staff' (or maybe is boss's wifey) is ok.

Sad to say, legally, they are not wrong to sell you anything above the price they display. Because the price tag is just an "invitation to treat", while the potential buyer will then make an "offer" to the seller to purchase the item at either the price stated or otherwise, which the seller can then decide to accept or reject.
If seller decides to jack up price, it is deemed as a counter-offer and the buyer can decide if he wants to complete the contract or not.
Sad reality in the justice system. :HammerHead: But of course, most of them (especially bigger companies) are afraid of reputational risks...we've got viral videos...facebook... :Scolding:

Not 100% correct I think. The situation is probably covered by the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and a couple of other legislation. The arms of the law nowadays are longer than most of us suspect.

I bought a strap before at that shop. The boss is nice & helpful. Perhaps the staff is lousy. Give them a chance, don't blacklist it too easily. ;D

You are quite right. Although the Contract Law states otherwise, we may have some other Consumer Laws that protects the vulnerable public like us ::)
But anyway, Tribunal cases most of the time Customer wins...even if it seems reasonable for the defendent to escalate it, they will have to go to Court which in most cases the defendent (company) will unlikely pursue and just settle it there and then. Cost + Reputational Risk.

in the end of the day, nothing is concrete unless in black and white. did you record him/her on video? or else, it's all your word against theirs.
not that i agree with how some people do business but that's life. shrug it off and walk away.

Some of you may disagree w me. In my working years, I define most transaction as 'who needs who more'. That includes employer-employee, customer-sales promoter and so on and forth for business relationship. It also explain why both sides of the political alliances are doing alot nowadays as they both need the rakyat support.
Well, its unfortunate for the shop owner to have a staff that thinks he doesnt need anyone. I guess we just have to move on. I would say 'goid riddance to b$& rubbish'

i just told the staff who busy talking to his computer that i no longer want to buy n then walk out
1. dont want to let them make my money
2. dont want to waste my time

First apprentice fiddle with it, then no display then boss have to look at it.
Took 1 freakin hour!
I only went there because a lot of shops i went to either dont wanna touch a Gshock or have no stock for that size of batt.

I usually go SG Wang to change my watch batt. But there is 1 time I can't find batt for my perpetual cal watch no choice but to get it done in SG.

a shop in LG of tropicana mall will change g-shock batts.
