Developed in conjunction with Comex and the legendary Jacques Cousteau, Omega conceived and developed what was probably the first waterproof watch designed and built solely for the diving professional.
The watch took 4 years to come to the market after extensive testing and arrived in 1970. It was nicknamed PloProf by the French speaking development team and derives from the French term PLOngeur PROFessionnel (Professional Diver).
(Info from www.PLOPROF.com)

It looks 'different' from other types diving watch...well my wrist size 6.5inch, it will look huge!! But i am loving it... :Dancing_banana:
Comments +/- are all welcome....
Can anyone introduce a AD which take installment..  :Praying:

I used to own 3 Omegas..
Speedy Moonphase Cal 1866, Seamaster Professional CoAxial Chronometer Cal 2500C, Planet Ocean Chronograph CoAxial Cal 3313. All sold off last year.

I actually like the concept of the PloProf but the execution in terms of design doesn't appeal to me. Tried it on my wrist and it doesn't excite me at all. My missus was blunt and told me that it was downright ugly.
Maybe it will work for you and that's more important... if you put it on and you love it, then you should go for it. The latest version houses the Cal 8500.... an excellent Omega in-house co-axial movement

agree with ck77 that it is really a love-hate affair. I find it hard to take the watch case seriously for this watch. The shape is really unusual. Other than that i find the bezel, dial and hands to be fantastic.

If you like for it historic importance and spirit behind the creation. You'll learn to love it.

However if you like it for its unusual look and wrist presence then I afraid when you have the watch for sometime you'll be bored of it. Might even sell it at the end or hate it.

Those are my personal opinion of course which I came to learn myself along this hobby.

Regards
Tyler

I like it. Don't have an Omega in my collection yet (got a PO for my wife last, that doesn't count). After the PO, this is the Omega that I would seriously consider.
