Any seiko diver series will fit your needs. The lume is bright enough to make you think twice to wear to any formal dinner

Luminox automatic is above his $1k price range.

I'd go with Seiko too at this price range.

Try google this brand's name - Alexandre christie

It is available in M'sia but only few shop carries it~ there is one tritium model with automatic movement, the retail if i am not mistaken around 1.8k. It is cheaper than Luminox but i am not sure about the quality of movement, maybe you can search for it and try it by yourself  ;)

any SEIKO DIVER series should come with great lume....most of it...
Seiko Monster is one great example. Great movement , nice design for less than 1k

when u mentioned brighter lume u meant an initially brighter lume watch or consistently bright lume watch? Gaseous Tritium Light Source (GTLS) or rather people just call tritium tube watch have lume that consistently bright through out their isotopes life but bare in mind that when they reach their half life.. the brightness supposely will reduced by half by that time.  For a good conventional lume that is properly charged the initial lume is usually brighter than most TGLS but it then will gradually decreased in brightness.. Even for a conventional lume it also can lasts all night with a proper charge..

I would suggest seiko monster for your budget..
theres a few GTLS watches out there with ur budget but mostly quartz.. ><

if u wanna go for GTLS watch go for the ones with T100 as its usually brighter than T25~ ^^

correct me if im wrong... (>,<)Y

all the best, tc cheers~

am-sober,I'm with you...100% agreed!I have Ball Night Train,a Luminox Field 1828-both of them have very good lumes...throughout the night,day,7 days a week....I also have Seiko Orange Monster,Citizen Eco-Drive 300m,Seiko Solar SSC015P1-all have good lumes, only that they gradually lost them as time passes on.....but among all Seikos and Citizen that I own currently,Orang Monster(Green Lume),and Citizen Eco-Zilla 300m(Blue Lume) can last the whole night long when properly charged...........anyway that's only my personal opinion.(Bear in mind that Seiko Monsters are non-winding and non-hackable Automatics-you have to properly 'shake' them for a period of time-15 to 30 minutes to fully 'awake' the automation).Anyway..I stand corrected.
all the best, tc cheers~
