Hi, would like to share some photos of my most recent purchase. The Omega Planet Ocean Liquidmetal LE..
Have been my grail for awhile now. Was lucky to find one in an AD recently. :Dancing_banana:

congratulations. It is an exquisite piece. Never lucky enough to see one in the flesh. Am also eyeing one but is the new 8500 Liquidmetal Planet Ocean.
-
Thanks. Took quite a few calls and e-mails to track this down. It's getting really scarce. Glad I managed to find one.
The Blue Titanium Liquidmetal PO is nice as well but unfortunately, it's too large for my wrist.

i notice the 6 n 9 is very similar to pam's dna

lovely Liquidmetal PO colour and design…….
I recently sold 3 Omegas, a SMP, PO Chronograph & a Speedy because I wanted to switch over to the new Liquidmetal models with the new 8500/9300 calibres incorporating the Si escapement.
To me, one of Omega's weakness is that their watch case & bracelets scratch quite easily. Perhaps its the quality of their steel. For me, the SMP steel bracelet design is one of the most beautifully designed bracelets bar none but it scratches ever so easily and it looks terrible in that condition.
Can anyone share why the Liquidmetal is used only for the bezel whereas the rest of watch will continue to scratch easily.
Is it cost or is it a technological barrier to use Liquidmetal for cases, bracelets or are they worried that the watch will remain ever scratchless that their future sales as well as after sales service for restorations will be affected.
Too bad the design & movements of the Chanel J or Rado ceramic watches are not my cup of tea but I wish their material technology could be replicated by the other manufactures..

Didnt know the liquid metal was hard to get.
Always see it at the boutique.
Congrats on the purchase!
Great looking watch and movement.

is the seamaster wording in red? or is that the camera white balance making orange look red?
-
Greaat buy! Thinking of one mysyself please give a few words on how it feels :)
-
No..The seamaster wording is red. This is the LE Liquidmetal version which is limited to 1948 pieces. It is equipped with the 2500d movement. The orange wording POs are the new ceramic bezel ones with the 8500 Caliber movements.
-
ah cool that its red.
liquid metal has 2500D? thought they were all 2500C.
-
Congrats.. Very handsome watch..

Bingo.. Yup, this is the Liquidmetal LE which is pretty much extinct if one is looking to buy new from an AD / Omega boutique. The last I heard, the Melbourne Omega boutique has one for AU$6,750.
I have been given to understand that all 1948 pieces come equipped with the 2500c.

Could you be referring to the newer Titanium Liquidmetal PO? That one is blue in colour and larger at 45.5mm. It's a looker as well but I prefer the slimmer profile of the 2500, plus 42mm is the preferred size for me.

I happen to own the standard 2500 PO as well, which is also a handsome watch.
In comparison, the LM LE is the dressier of the two.. due to reflective dial and ceramic / liquidmetal bezel. Both are nice but this one feels a bit more special.. you should check it out soon and grab one if you like it..
I paid full retail but in my opinion, it's worth every penny.

Great looking watch
and also learnt tat not all new PO comes with 8500
-
What a handsome PO, there.
Congrats on the purchase!
And wear in Good Health!

Actually ..AFAIK all new PO (ceramic dails) comes in 8500 guise (8520 is a variant of it). The LM LE was introduced prior to the adoptation of the 8500 movement to the current gen PO. -Correct me if I am wrong..

would appreciate it if you could take a picture of the caseback-transparent right?

Nope, the caseback is steel instead of crystal.. My preference is for steel caseback as I think it's more apt for a diver's watch.
The POs with the 8500 movement have crystal case backs and I was told that because of this (along with the movement), it resulted in the thicker profile of the watch.

wear in good health...a true beauty!

congratulation, wear it in good health.
