pam destro entry level will b pam 219 (correct me if i m wrong) but i personally like pam 26.

as for the straps....i m not sure it is water resistant but my advise is better avoid water when is a leather. if u wan to swim or some water activity best is to get rubber strap

What is the budget? If most basic destro, it is the PAM 219.

I don't think there's any left handed model at 42mm or smaller. The closest is 44mm  ;)

Regards
Tyler

destros are pretty rare, even for panerai.

aside from the SEs, the only regular production now is the PAM219 44mm.
it won't wear too big, as it only sounds big. if your wrist is bigger than 6", u'll be able to wear it.

as for the strap, i think else from A/B series rubberised calf, the rest are not anything like kodiak.
but as usual, its really easy to buy a aftermarket strap for panerai. and takes less than 1 minute to fix it on.

happy hunting!

Hai Jay Jay,

Guess price in Beijing much higher than Malaysia. Don't know about Panerai store in Beijing, but store in Shanghai says cannot have VAT refund at airport.

Great watch thou! Wish you luck.

Hi Gloomis,

as for daestro,

just want to try since i wear on right hand for all my watches, i thot it's unique with the crown at 9

Have not any Pam brand yet and i dont know any other brand manufacture left-handed model other than Panerai, and 219 I was told is an entry model, Pam26 looks nicer though.

I believe the entire China does not have a VAT program, yet.

Luxury timepiece generally in China is way more expensive than most countries in the world due to their 20% or so taxes on luxury goods.
Just to give you an idea, the retail price for PAM000 is CNY35K (which is around RM17.5K) in Beijing as of May 2012. I believe the retail price for the same model in Msia is at RM15K?
So there you go.

Hi Jay2,
Don't think you missed much, PAM Boutique in Beijing is perhaps less than half the size of SG Boutique.
However near Wangfujing area there's a Macau City Watch Mall which has a PAM shop, I doubt it being an official Boutique although it is much larger than the official Boutique at Park Hyatt Beijing.

PAM 219 certainly comes to mind. If you look hard enough, the prices for a used ones are quite competitive. Buying a brand new from AD or grey market would almost certainly command a slight premium or no discount at all.

If you looking for 42mm, non destro, you may want to look at the new pam00392. It is a luminor marina with in house movement and comes in at 42mm.
