Just sent my 4 months old IWC 5001 back to the service center..
look at the dust,it is at the edge of the inner ring(33min marker):o :o
At first,i saw the dust was on the inside of the date window, after a while it came out and lying quietly on the dial.(or more dust?!?~)things just happened.. :Blue:
It's time to send back,to clean up the dust and for the power reserve check up...
cheers,
ck

CK, my 1 year 9 months 5001 also have the same issue..
the small dust is at the second marker close to 40 marking.. but it's very near to the marker and i don't bother it actually...
I guess i might send it back for service before warranty ended next year late Jan :P and see if i can change the dial or not! hahahhaha
Cheers!

could the dust have gotten there at the factory? I think so cause once the watch is sealed, nothing, not even air gets in.
one of my watch has a tiny lint inside at the movement. Im quite disappointed when I see small details like these from a top tier brand.
-
Yes! I'm sure it's got in the factory :)
For me i'm ok la...not that fussy type since the dust maybe or can make my watch unique to the rest :HammerHead:
If case some one took it i still can tell that's mine :police:
I think this "problem" are quite common to those hand assembly or finishing watches brand.. which i think it make the watch more lively and "real"... pf course, those too obvious one are too much la... hahhahaha.. just my opinion..

I think paying that kind of money, I would expect excellence.
If you found a little "problem" with one watch its acceptable but I've come across many watches that is just not right.

having dust in the dial is not acceptable for even a rm200 watch!
this is fundamental for every watchmaker....
they must clean the watch before they put it back.....
so i'll make hell lot of complaint.....
and scott... u cant change dial....
if they allow u to change dial.... every1 will buy the LE dial and change.... to increase my watch value!
eg. buy a rolex milgauss then change a green crystal become milgauss gv can?
all brands practice the same....
-
hahaa..looks like i should send it back.... i just realized my tolerance level is not that bad, i guess ;D
btw, i once ask IWC before if i can change it to white dial and blue hand, they said "CAN" as long as the model is still in production.. maybe not LE but at least the answer i got is yes to the white+blue hands ;)
anywhere, will see when i'm free to send it back
-
i'm worry because the dust seems like moving everywhere...
and i noticed one time my watch is stop and the power reserve hand was pointing at day 5....

If you are paying so much money for the watch, you have every right to be anal about the finishing.

Dust inside the watch and on the dial somemore!?! Totally zero tolerance.
I don't even buy the watch, even the watch is Seiko 5.
