Hi,
I'm getting my first high-end watch around 7k to 10k watch. I wondering should I get a maurice lacroix, Frederique Constant, longiness or bell&ross. This is the only few brand I like, I just hope the sifu here can help me out about which brand has more value and yet sexy to wear everyday!
Cheers!
[ps. and after this will be panerai luminor marina ]

from the brand you listed, seems like you are aiming at classic instead of sport. In that case, besides those brand i would suggest Tudor, Seiko Ananta, Vulcain, Bremont, Montblanc, Longines etc.
Just my opinion though... the best is choose the watch that you love the most :thumbsup:

Ball Trieste ... limited edition..
-
Grand Seiko and Zenith if you're into good movements and great finishing. Rolex for showing off, always. Mont Blanc for style.

Rolex for showing off? Really bro?
-
Yeah ! Its not cheap and its still the most recognizable watch brand in the world ... not to mention its also 100% swiss made and in-house movement ...
-
would go for Bell & Ross with this budget.. :D
super fashion watch :thumbsup: :thumbsup:
-
No, I beg to differ. My rolexes are not for showing off.
If you have a budget say around rm7-10k, you may want to consider a preloved classic air king. an evergreen watch that can be worn everyday.

buying a hi-end watch is personal relationship between you and the watch Not showing off to the world how well off are u. If want to show off i rather strap my wrist with gold bars
-
I used to think that people who wear Rolex are people who likes to show off.....but after i go deeper into the history, the quality and the appreciation it gets from Rolex fans, i begin to like the watch more and more. I got the chance to "play" with a Rolex Explorer II from my cousins, the quality of the SS and it is very comfortable wearing it.
After that i found MWF sites and many die-hard Rolex fans posting pictures, reviews, discussion about this brand that i accept the tittle given as one of the world's most sought after brand.
Some people prefer popular brands like Rolex, Tag Heuer so that people can recognize easily what they're wearing. While some prefer less popular brands like Damasko, Stowa simply they like the design of the watch. The most important thing is to satisfy yourself with a watch that you would look at it every night before going to bed, regardless of the price :thumbsup:

agreed :) even casio has "gold" watches for those who likes bling~ If the design attracts you and the price is within your reach, why not ? At least you will enjoy the watch !:laugh:
-
If you have the budget, go for the Rolex (your first high-end watch). u will never regret for that decision.

Apart from Swiss made maybe u shd take a look at JDM seiko..

I'm surprise to learn it's no longer in production as I can still spot quite a few on some ADs display window...
If the price is remain the same like last time. I think This could be the best tribute Longines ever made since being taken over by swatch group.

Thank you for replying!! hahaha... at first I didnt expect anyone to reply this hehe.. Ya I agree that watch is a personal relationship and not something other people ask you to buy or wear... I will not wear something that I myself dont like it :)
That is a super nice longines! the only thing I'm afraid of longines is the quality, is it true that they are under swatch now? I'm not sure about swatch nowadays, but I wearing a swatch now (a gift from my grandpa 5 years ago) which is very good in quality and still working perfectly.
I LOVE rolex GMT, it will be an honor to own one :) but I dont think so is the right time now :) sorry mate.. maybe I'm a bit too young for it.. haha..
So now if longines is out then I will consider Zenith and frederique constant..
What you guys think of this two brand?
-
and I love good watch as in good movement and attention to detail, and how it looks!! hahaha

Saw a piece at Mid-Valley a couple of weeks, in that watch shop which has the name of a country of which the president is now Barrack Obama. Check it out!! :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

With rm10k, you can easily get Nomos Glashutte auto with in-house movement... But have to get it from AD in singapore...
-
Grand Seiko and Zenith if you're into good movements and great finishing. Rolex for showing off, always. Mont Blanc for style.
IMHO Rolex(except some of their sport models) is one of the most understated watch in terms of design wise :-\,they do hell lot of advertising these days though :Startled:

Date or no date version? The date version is still in production but the non date version is no longer in production. If not mistaken the non date version also had a model number change.

Longines is under Swatch Group not under Swatch watch. So no worries about quality. Lots of brands under Swatch Group:
Prestige and Luxury Range: Breguet, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, Léon Hatot, Omega, Tiffany & Co.;
High Range: Longines, Rado, Union Glashütte;
Middle Range: Tissot, ck watch & jewelry, Balmain, Certina, Mido, Hamilton;
Basic Range: Swatch, Flik Flak;
Private label: Endura.
As for Zenith and Frederique Constant, apple and oranges. Both good, but different range.
-
Ya Zenith consider the higher range right?
-
Zenith is pricier than FC, also more popular and high standard
-
I forgot :P
If you are really keen then PM me your contact details and we'll talk in private.
There might be a Rollie that could fit into that 10k price ;)

Hi Tyler where did you saw it?

if you have budget of up to 10k, try to grab a pre owned zenith or pam. FC is alright but its only considered a mid range brand.
-
Whether it is a mid-range or high end brand, the most important thing is you like the watch and will crrooned over it day and night. You may like the dials, teh hands, the designs or even watching the movement (for those with transparent back).
If you like it, and it is within your budget, my advise is go for it.
buying a hi-end watch is personal relationship between you and the watch Not showing off to the world how well off are u. If want to show off i rather strap my wrist with gold bars
Yes, agreed with the above statement 100%.
Buying a watch, whether it is a cheap or a hi-end watch, is a relationship between you and the watch. You buy a watch because you like that watch. It may be the design, the looks, the comfort it provides when the case back touches your skin etc.
If you want to show off, don't buy the watch. Instead buy the most expensive watch, or the most in-trend watch (of which you may have to change from time to time just to follow the trend), or get from auction houses the rarest watch ever found.
-
keep searching. dont rush into it. consider a good condition pre owned watch. value drops less when u get a good pre owned watch offer.
-
I don't think Longines Legend Diver is out of production, quite few ADs still display it and it still shown up in Longines.com
This model was one of those that I considered recently. However, I dropped it and picked master series as I was looking for an evergreen watch. :)
