My son's grandfather bought it new in 1951. It was passed to me 30 years ago when he passed on. That started my watch collecting spree as I have to buy another one for my younger son. Gave this watch to older son 10 years ago and it has been kept in box since. Bought another 6092 manufactured about 1952 , which is still with me, as the younger son chose the newer model datejust and TAG 6000 in 18 K YG which I bought new in 1994.

I think the predecessor of the explorer are 6098 and 6150 with the A296 movement. The dial is with triangle index and dauphine hands like yours.
