Anyone heard anything about PAM448 from their AD?
I called my agent before but was told that its very hard for them to secure this. Just wondering if anyone know how many pieces will be allocated to Malaysia AD?
Thanks.
-
bro, even the pam's sifu, a very vip in pam boutique worldwide oso cant secure himself a pcs. so u should know how hard that will be.
-
Not to sure if the AD will get them. I think the demand at the boutique is more then the number of watches available. You can try and put your name down at the boutique, the closest is Singapore and Bangkok. All the best.
-
perhaps you can pm dsiewmy on your luck?

I have contacted my agents at KL, HK and Geneva. Thought my best bet is KL since lesser buyers in KL. Look like very few pieces will be allocated to KL, otherwise my agent will save it for me. Geneva has to wait till end of the year.

All the best with the hunt and do share your success with us once you get the watch.

Hai Bros,
Just check with the Pam Boutique in Shanghai and was told their stock will only be available in August. Ask to leave contact and will call once watch is available. Price in Shanghai much more expensive than Malaysia.

Thanks a lot mate. By the way, based on the experience of PAM249, this is a good piece to go for even for speculative purpose. 249 went up almost double now. Grab it if your agent in Shanghai call you. You will not regret.

Currently the PAM00249 is trading about 2 to 2.5 times (condition and kit dependent) it's original price. However will the prices remain once the PAM00448 is released is yet to be seen as the PAM00448 is expected to be south of RM30,000. As it is Panerai has already increased the SE from 500 pieces to 750 and feedback is about 50/50 due to the 'vintage' engraving between the lugs.

Yeah mate, surprised to know that the retail price is MYR30k. 448 retail price is around hkd69,800 which is around RM24k. Well, I will go for 448 now given a choice rather than 249 since 448 is using its own inhouse P9001 movement.

PAM448 has it own in house movement. But not P9001. It is P3000 calibre hand wound movement.
P9001 is automatic movement. and with date function as well. =)
Kind regards,
Wilson

Hi Guys, new in this forum here :)
regarding PAM 448, If I am not mistaken it will only be allocated to Panerai boutiques. I called Geneva boutique (for PAM449) on the first day of SIHH and they couldn't promise anything. Hope I got lucky though.
-
Wilson, my bad my bad. Sign of aging. Guess i should double confirm the movement number before i posted.

I spoke to third PP boutique last week. They told me that 448 will be allocated to both AD and boutique. But having known that there are around 500 AD and boutique globally, guess each of them will only be allocated 1-2 and boutique will get more than AD. AD almost told me to give up on my quest actually. I hope to receive good news from Geneva boutique too cos I bought several from them last time.

It would be nice indeed to see AD getting these watches but I doubt it, what with Panerai expanding their boutiques to 50 by year end and they are currently terminating Ads. Sad to see this happening when these very AD were the ones that supported Panerai in the early days when no one wanted to carry the watches. Wonder how many of the original 260 AD they will keep.
-
Really Hobbit? Thats terrible. But not surprised that they are doing this. Panerai works very well with its 'controlled supply' rather than mass produce like rollie. So not surprised that they may want to terminate all ADs eventually since they have developed a lot of hardcore PP fans for them by now. I used to like PP a lot when they are a bit rare last time. But honestly, wearing a pam these days is just like wearing a rollie. I even bumped into a cabbie with a pam recently. sigh.
anyway, a friend who went to Singapore helped me to reserve 448 at PP boutique there as well. He told me that they informed him the stocks will come in Xmas. Doubt will get it as walk in. Anyway, no harm to try.

Gd move
Many small shop selling cheaper
So pam got no choice
-
Well, no good for buyers like us. :(

Good luck on getting that PAM 448 mate. It is an absolute beauty.

Thanks Wilson. I think my chance is a bit slim and i dont believe in paying premium to buy it from other channel. Indeed, one of the boutique suggested me to grab the normal edition, similar california dial instead.
-
What's a normal version? I thought all cali dial are either LE or SE and boutique only.

Its PAM 424. It looks similar with california dial but comes with a small pam logo. Hands are slightly different too. Boutique told me to consider that too. I think the price is similar but 424 is not limited edition. 1,500 yearly production if i am not mistaken.
-
seems like PP wanted to make the brand even more premium than current status :HammerHead:
-
pam has been pretty successful in its limited supply marketing strategy.
-
is pam448 really available now in the market? i saw someone wearing it the other day
-
Thats probably 424. Not easy to distinguish it unless u examine closely 424 is definitely out, I saw one few weeks ago.
-
Could be just the 249.

No, the 448 & the 449 are not out yet. None of the 2012 SEs are out yet except a few limited pieces of the 395
