Title: Basel 2012: Hamilton Intra-Matic
Post by: ck77 on March 10, 2012, 10:54:36 AM
Another winner (to me)

Even better: $845 for the 38mm and $945 for the 42mm with ETA2892

lovely retro design..like old omegas, longines, timex of 60's

if it came with a gorgeous in-house movt with display back..., I'd buy it in a wink...

I would go for the Nomos!
But the manual wind Nomos is kinda small at 36mm. But i do love their cordovan straps.

This Hamilton is ok but still a pet peeve of mine to have a sec hand.
Also for a 42mm watch the hands are too thin!
I feel empty looking at the dial.

Damn this years BASEL looks like every brand is going retro.

I thought 38mm would be a nice dress watch.

Mmm. This I like but this particular Hamilton has it's own appeal to me.

The manual wind Nomos Orion Datum is 38mm and Tegente Datum is 37.5. Both are manual wind

Just perfect size because of the very thin bezel and long lugs.

Whereas their epsilon powered automatic movements are from 38.5-40mm depending on models.

One thing I like about Nomos is that they do not take the lazy way out of slapping a small movement and putting thick spacers to upsize the watch.

Bulimic-matic? Thinnest movement ever?
