In the last few years we have seen many brands going back to their "roots" and reissue popular models with a bit of modern twist or none at all.
How do you view this?
As for me, i dont see it as a good thing.
Yes its a "second" chance for people to own "legendary" models. But where is creativity?
New designs?
To me a reissue is only good in the form a LE less than 100 pieces.
OK, enough ranting, i do like the Tudor in Ti though :P

Kinda like the TAG HEUER Monaco re-issue though..

Since most brands have some heritage to pull from...
I guess it is unavoidable that they should update the designs.
I am not for 1 to 1 copy... more like updates with a hint of the heritage.
The Tudor Pelagos is a good example.
Old ones water resistant to 200m, new ones 500m... it's got planet ocean at it's sights... ;D
Old ones stainless steel, new one is Titanium.
Those I can accept.
Be thankful that they did not re-issue 1 to 1 copy and charge us an arm and a leg and make it uber limited... like the jlc polaris and the jlc tribute to deep sea.... pricey!!!

Panerai will be milking their heritage till kingdomcome...
Not that I blame them though... if it ain't broken, don't fix it...

1. Lack of creative ideas.
2. There are market and demand for that. Risti, cough cough ;D
My favorite reissue,

Isn't that the one with the same movement as the moon watch?
As for Panerai........

Hobbits, you are right on the movement in Carrera reissue.
Forgot to give credit for that nice picture to the late great Chuck Maddox.

Yeah I like that watch as well. Hard to come by pre-loved.

I liked the 1960 Grand Seiko re-issue with a spanking new hi-tech hand wind calibre enough to grab it at first sight...
I missed the JLC Polaris reissue of 7xx pcs..kicking myself as Polaris was no longer around when I was born…Current pre-owned selling even higher than original price..
I'd grab the re-issue of Glashutte Original Navigator Type A dial without a date with Cal GUB 100….they had so few it sold out and not even available in pre-owned market...
