Title: Ladies, I humbly request that you go out and get your man an Engagement Watch
Post by: dragonash_se7en on February 08, 2012, 06:00:37 PM
Since when is it cool to give a gift and not get one in return?

The amount spent on a ring, just like the amount spent on a watch, should be a relative term.

Besides, you’ll be buying jewelery for this woman the rest of your life, why don’t you have her buy you something epic and call it a day? I say for every dollar you spend on her ring, she should spend at least two dollars on your watch.

Is this engagement watch thing really going to catch on? Thumbs up if you are in for this trend (post your dream engagement watch) !!!!!!

this is one PP I could have an incentice to save up years for… by which time its still hopefully available….

Incidentally my older brothers received watches from their father-in-laws when they got married.
One received a GP and my eldest brother a beautiful solid gold Eterna. Too bad when I got married, I didnt get one from my in-laws.... bummer

Wedding ring is supposed to last forever.

Watch requires servicing and could breakdown - if comes with leather straps, requires changing after a few years - ummmmm this sound more like marriage to me hahahah :Laughing_on_floor:

If anyone is worried about maintenance and strap wearing out, get a Seiko 5 with bracelet. It can last for almost a life time. But then again... it defeats the purpose of this thread :)
