If you’re being chased by two equally fun and charming watches, which one should you pick to start your watch collection. Any advice ?

I like the theme.
Sorry folks, I am not a fan of pammy.
Go for the IWC
dc
-
I suspect no matter which you go for, you'd end up also wanting the other.
-
very different watches.
you looking for dress watch or casual one?
you like features/functions or simplicity?
big heavy watch against light and soft spoken.
better think about these things before deciding on which one you want.
as for the panerai, good choice on PAM111, a good start :)
-
Both are good starters? Wait, let me re phrase, both are great addition to any watch collection at any time! But if given limited funds, i'd go with the iwc, it has more things to look at for the money paid.

both GMT watch,
have you see Rolex GMT, another alternative

GMT? Are we looking at the same photos?

For me I'll go with PAM as it is quite versatile i.e for you to wear to office, dinner & weekend with jean & t-shirt. By changing the strap, PAM can cater for all your needs
IWC Portofino Chrono is a bit of dressy watch. With jean & t-shirt.......mmmmm I don't think so
-
anyway go see both watches first.
the pam is very heavy, large and sturdy.
the iwc is very light, fine and delicate.
it's like choosing 2 things from different worlds, it should be easy to decide once u have them in sight

+1, agreed with bro dsiewmy. need to get the feel of the watch on your wrist before you make any decision. in the end, it is your decision to choose whichever that sang to you most. good luck in either one of the shortlisted watch.

pam111..............
-
Thank you guys for the advice. Is really hard to decide for now. And i agree with with Joshua, if i but either 1 i will save for the next one. Hahahhaha but which should i get 1st ? still deciding..

Dato' 7, nice to see you in this forum. Have you sold the vintage TD2000, & joined Aston Martin Club yet, or remained in the TT Club? ;)

What are you seen more in? Casual or formal? Personally I think the PAM is a more versatile watch, able to complement both occasion, while the IWC is more suited (pun intended) for formal wear. It would be best to try out both watches and see which one sings to you. However you can do wrong with either watches.
-
Depending on your wrist size as well, better try both to see which one fits better.
I'd go for Portofino Chrono :))
-
pam is more easy to fit in any ocasion where else iwc look too classy for me. don think it will be fit nicely if you wearing shorts and polo tee :Laughing_on_floor:
-
Personally i'd go for the PAM on this one. But that portofino is a nice piece as well. Either way, post your wrist shoots later
-
Not a chrono fan - never find the opportunity to use it - I'm with the PAM
-
Go for the PAM as your first watch. Can be worn for more occasions.
-
LOL, looks like the paneristis are coming in finally :)
-
Agree that the PAM is more versatile, and the straps can make a huge difference. Best of all, there is probably a strap for each occasion.

Se7en as in that se7en? If so, nice to see you here too :)
Slightly off topic: there is no Aston Martin Club, just four guys complaining about what a pain in the rear getting to the Singapore service centre is. Only plus side is watch shopping down south... Also, TT club is full of hairdressers and people like my brother, who think their 2.0 turbo can match a Ferrari in a traffic light drag :p
Back on topic: I love the classiness of the IWC, but the ristis is strong in this forum, and I'm succumbing to the racun. Bottom lines this: I have an IWC, and now want a Pam. It would happen the other way around, too. So make it so that both end up on your wrist. Worst thing is, have to buy the exact model you want, nothing sucks more than compromising for price and feeling it's not quite there when you finally get the piece on your wrist.
There is no 'torn between two lovers here'. The ultimate goal is a ménage a trois :)
-
totally different things to compare. 1 is dress watch, more to classic and vintage feeling. pam is more to rugged and daily watch. cant compare.
all depends wat is the purpose for buying, if for daily use i will go for pam. if only dinner i will go for iwc

Bro 7 is no hairdresser, mate. TT is such an nice looking, cheap & able car, only shamed by its tarty interior finishing only! ;)
Btw, did we meet in the Alphard Club that bro 7 was involved too?

Haha not saying that 7 is a hairdresser, just that the TT should really belong to one. I personally don't believe men should ever be seen driving a TT, which is why I laugh at my brother a lot. To be fair, that car belongs to his gf, but still... And nope, don't have an Alphard so we probably didn't meet.

I ll go for Pam 111 even I sold mine 2 yrs ago.. Still missing my Pam 111..

Or you could get a Panerai Radiomir, it sure looks classy enough for any dinner event... :)
-
i have IWC and PAM...i'm more noticeable when wearing PAM ;D so i think PAM is better choice..
-
Took off my IWC and tried on a friend's PAM00090.
I say if it has to be one, go Pam.
-
pam is a very easy carried watch. to alot ppl they might think it is big bt after a while on wrist then u will be starting to love it
-
IWC of course! no question ask!
panerai is too mainstream..sorry to pammy fans..just my opinion...hehe
