with a little patience, you can sell here and the prices should be much more favourable to you than if you were to sell it to a shop.

Yup, agree  if you sell to the shop, sure they will slash you, why not participate here, and accumulate enough point, then only post at sale section. or perhaps you may change yr mind later and decided to keep.

P/S : I can help but with commission on selling price  :Laughing_on_floor:

There are several places in KL where you can sell to second hand dealers, i.e. Berjaya Times Square (at Level 6), Amcorp Mall, where many second hand dealers are located.

Be prepared to sell with low price to the shop, vice versa, u can sell higher to direct buyer

Agreeing on the slashing of price at shop. Much better to sell with direct buyer.

If you sell to shops chances are you will get low deal, not recommended...experienced it before, better if you post it in member pre owned sales section

Sell on your own:Make sure you dont get con/ rob when selling and meeting buyer
Sell to shop : Peace of mind but you lose some margin.

Choose based on your risk appetite. Of course if the buyer is a friend or someone's friend that will be the middle ground.

I wouldn't try selling my watches to one of the watch shops. You'll be looking at a seriously oversized depreciation (aka financing the shop's profit margins). Even if you're trading in for another Rolex, you will find that your rather new, used Rolex will be taken in really cheap and their used Rolex will be sold sky high. Like a used car business, they'd want to profit from both transactions. Maybe there are some shops who are operating from a lower profit margin but I've not been fortunate enough to find one.

You are right.  Used Watch shops are like 2nd hand car dealers.  They would want to profit both ways.  This makes us feel like they are seedy and sly.  But to be fair to them, that is the nature of their business. That is how they survive.  Don't even think you can outsmart or out talk them cause the aremaster negotiators and they do this everyday.  Hence, deal with them only when you are in a hurry to dispose off your watch or in a hurry to get your next piece.  If you have all the time in the world, then wait and sell/buy in this forum is better.
