Title: Greetings from River Bamboo!
Post by: Awee on December 29, 2011, 08:45:23 PM
Hi everyone!

My name is Teoh and this is my first post in this forum. However, I have been following MWF for quite some time now and am very impressed with all the feedback and advice from all the knowleageble watch sifus here. I hope to learn more about watches from all members but will try my very best not to be seriously "poisoned"  ;D if you know what i mean.

I started collecting watches since 2005 and currently have a small collection of mostly vintage watches. Started with quartz then moved on to manual and autos. My preference is for large watches and the largest one I have is around 55mm. It is a pocket watch converted to a wrist watch. I am also inclined towards interesting dial design and bright colours.

My current collection includes the following:

1. Vintage Zenith - early 1900s
2. Vintage Doxa (55mm) -  early 1900s
3. Vintage Union Horlogere -  early 1900s
4. Seiko Bullhead - Auto
5. Citizen Bullhead - Auto
6. Zeno Bullhead - Auto
7. Zeno Airplane GMT - Quartz
8. Zeno Profesional Diver - Quartz
9. Nautica Ocean 50mm - Quartz
10. Vintage Seiko 5 - Auto
11. Glycine Airman SST06- Auto
12. Omega Seamaster Chronostop - Manual
13. Vintage Fortis Marinemaster- Auto
14. Azimuth Bombardier IV - Manual
15. Wilson Watch Works US Handmade Manual Wind Pilot watch

I hope to post the photos of my watch collection soon so that I can share them with you.

Thats all for now and till the next time.....

There's no hard and fast rule but I believe the Watch Gallery board may be more suitable.

hi Ivan, good spot. Yep, residing in the one and only Sg Buloh where I call home for the past 15 years. Interestingly, my hometown is Sungai Petani. Coincidence? Go figure!

Interesting, but I think Bamboo River sounds better. I use to live there as well (still do, occasionally).

Thought of that but due to the excellent Malaysian education system, we were taught to translate directly from BM. So River Bamboo it is.

So Ivan, i am staying in BRP near the golf course. How about you?

Use to stay at the outskirts of River Bamboo, between BRP (Bukit Rahman Putra?) and Sri Damansara. But now based in Taiwan.

First & foremost, welcome to MWF.
I used to stay in BRP (first phase) the last 15 years, now just shifted to Puchong.
Still goes back to BRP once a month. Maybe can meet-up for "yum cha" either at "Yik Tai Ga" rows of shops or at the Restoran Maju Ahmad area one of these days when I go back to BRP.

Hi Watchnewby, thanks for the welcome.

Yes, always welcome to meet up with fellow members especially to share watches and watch stories. I am also a regular at Yik Tai Ga and another mamak joint near Maju Ahmad. Let me know when you are coming to BRP and maybe we can arrange for a meet. Take care.

Kepong? I use to stay there (well Kepong Baru) a long long time ago (when dinosaurs ruled the earth). As for my new movie, Peter (Jackson) is handling it....  :Laughing_on_floor:

Kepong Baru was my 'first' home when i came to KL 20 years ago to study. I still frequent Kepong Baru once a month to get my hair cut, the same unisex hair saloon I use for the past 15 years. I also love the food there especially the sunday pasar malam.
