Title: Oysterquartz
Post by: terrenceterrence on December 21, 2011, 01:51:40 AM
Tried on one the other day and is quite smitten by the way it looks on the wrist and it's quirky "Genta-esque" design. Also not to mention it's rarity and unique position in Rolex' history.

From what I read, servicing cost can be a horror if motherboard change is required and for such an angular watch, a fine example is quite hard to find. Anyone have any experience of owning, living with or heard of first hand actual owner experiences?

If you do stumble upon one, do give me a holler.

I for one quite like the shape as well.
Read in some forums that batt replacement is free? Kinda hard to believe.
Some go for a batt change every year.

Labour is "free" but battery is not  :Laughing_on_floor:

Not sure what's the markup for their battery by RSC though. But a reciept for battery change every year might be good for records sake if you can find a complete set

For a full white gold piece maybe prices not too bad. Like the shape and the alternating brush and polished surfaces on the bracelet.
